I'm looking at buying a CTS-V with a blown motor.

I can get it completely rebuild stock for around $3000.

Would any of you guys recommend getting anything beyond a stock rebuild done?
My main concern would be having to mess with getting it tuned, but I do have HP Tuners.
I'm just wondering if there are any simple things to do while its all torn apart. (beyond normal maintenance. ) Or if there is anything the machine shop can do for cheap. I was considering a small cam or something, but that can be done later pretty easy.

Its a 60k mile LS6 motor. I'm probably looking at just daily-driving the car right now.

get some comp cam trunnion bearing for your rocker arms.get a ls2 timing chain and some harden push rods.I would do the cam while the motor is out of the car, less chance of wrecking the paint and alot easier to swap.call thunder racing or a EPS for a cam.check out Texas Speed Products for some parts.
