what you guys think this is?? 06 with a cam..hardened pushrods, comp valve springs.. happened out of no where..seems to have developed over a period of time. i was getting a noise that sounded like an exhaust leak, than few days ago it developed into a small tick..and now it is a loud knock... i haven't got a chance to pull the valve covers yet to check on that stuff.

It seems that noise is coming from the center of the motor.but hard to tell.

oil pressure is fine.. I checked the oil yesterday and it was low..it was below the 'low' mark on the dipstick

on another note..the car was just at the shop a week ago getting worked on for Cam bolts backing out..

If possible can you get a video because just like you listed it could be a number of things and actually hearing it could help more than descriptions.

Rocker arms could be spitting the bearings out.

Sounds like a rod bearing to me. If its an auto tranny you might have a converter bolt backing out, but I'm afraid I'm right the first guess. Kinda makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

I'm guessing lifter rotated in the bucket and is smacking the cam sideways. If you'll be doing the work, I'd disassemble the top end w/ the short-block still in place in the engine bay.

I'd start w/ the valve covers and rockers, inspecting the pushrods (you might get lucky and only have a bent one), rockers, and valve tips for damage. If no cause found, move onward.

Intake, exhaust manifolds, and heads come off next. Then you can remove and inspect the lifters, and inspect the cam lobes.

motor needs to be pulled..found bunch of shavings in the oil just barely sticking a small magnet in the drain plug..pulled the passenger side head, found a needle bearing chilling on top of the lifter tray..just about all except a few of the lifters were trashed.one of them was rotating as well...havent pulled the driver side yet, but the motor deff. needs to come out...

Have a lifter stuck in the cylinder 2 bore...needs to come out from the bottom..

also getting piston to valve.
