3 Channel rear end is a rear end with ABS only a 4 channel rear end is a rear end with TCS and ABS...
As for your driveshaft look on the end where the rear end is and there will be 2 "straps" with 2 bolts on each strap take the bolts off and remove the straps, remove the shaft from the yolk of the rear end and then slide it out of the trans. Bolt up your DSL then reinstall.

"...will i need to realign anything or something of that sort?"
mark a strip across the rear end of the drive shaft- across the rear u joint- yoke
( kind of like a timeing mark) so that you may reinstall the drive shaft and yoke back in the same relationship. when removing the strips which connect the ujoint to the yoke wrap a wrap or two around the complete rear ujoint so you do not drop the two loose caps and loose the small bearings, also when re install be sure the caps
completely fit back in to the yoke
>Do not drop the loose caps and mis place the small bearing<

Thanks all!
Scratch that...1 more question..
Can I put a 3 channel rear in my car? It has tcs but I always have it off.
So would I just tune the tcs off? Or what?

putting a 3 channel rear in your 4 channel car,you will lose BOTH ABS & TC.

I thought if I used my brake backing plates then I keep my abs.

partially correct.
using the backing plates with sensors AND axles from the 4 channel rear into the 3 channel rear will keep ABS & TC. you can't only keep ABS,TC comes along.
