Headed to Cecil for a test session today. New combination...

408" Iron block
4.030" Bore
4" Stroke
Mast Motorsports LS3 Medium Bore 6 bolt heads
Diamond +10CC Nitrous Pistons
L92 Victor Jr with Edelbrock Plate (0.093 jet)
ProSystems 1000 4150 carb


Old Combo went 5.95@122 with a 383 and PRC stg 2.5 5.3 heads

Made a motor run on very conservative timing letting out at the 1000' for a 10.0 @128

Turned the bottle on and it is driving through the trans and converter. (23% slip only getting 400rpm drop on the 2-3 shift)

You are the weakest link, lol. Bad converter, no Trans fluid for you.

Update - I got sidelined with 3 busted ribs (god damned 4wheelers). So I put my buddy in the seat to get his NHRA license.

4th run we decided to turn the bottle on as the converter was a little too tight for it on nuts alone.

Suprised us a little with how much it woke up.

that pan took a nasty hit. id hate to see that happen on a cast pan. looks like a good reason to go to a sheet metal or aluminum pan. whats it look like under the pan?

Racepak data showed it was shaking the tires through first gear.
Track prep was OK.

A few times the talk about 6010 vrs distributor has come up - another reason Im running the distributor and 7531 box came up. To get the car to go down the track, I had 20º retard coming off the trans brake. I had 12º of retard for the nitrous, and 8º coming out for launch, ramping back in at 1.5 seconds.

Plugs came out WAY rich, timing is very conservative (leaving with less than 20º total timing), Nitrous wasnt on until 0.2 out and only on at 30%...and I still have small jets in it.

Motor was built to handle 300+ worth of juice Ive got a few jet sizes to go up to get there.

Biggest problem is the old MT drag radial is just a shit tire compared to the hoosier or new MT, but class rules spec the old tire.

Havent updated in a while on this one...
