General LSX Automobile Discussion - Help me smash more mustangs and ricers!

Can anyone recommend a good stall for my 01 WS6. Had it a little over 2 months now and all ive done is an slp lid and exhaust. Headers probley coming next but this 18 year old only makes about 220$ a week so theyll have to wait a bit longer.

^this i have an ss3600 and love it, feels like a whole different car after i put it in.

How difficult was the install? And where can i find one that wont break a young kids bank haha

dont go cheap on a converter. you wont be happy.

No i mean where can i find the cheapest yank 3600. Yank was the way i wanted to go just saving 50-100 bucks can help out my wallet

When it comes to going fast you really shouldnt skimp on crappy parts. You'll pay for it in the long run. Make sure you get a good tune on the tranny as well and your tune should be redone. When you go with headers, if you plan on DDing the car and keeping it, go with a good stainless set. They wont rust through in a few years. Or at least get ceramic coated. I have pacesetters myself and they wont break the bank. Do the tb bypass mod as well. Thats free hp. Cut open the bottom of your air filter mount. Just do some digging theres a good amount of little tricks here and there to make it go faster on a budget.

^^ thread high jacker! Lol^^ nice ride. Original poster, just maybe look up the free mods, we have all been in your shoes, more power asperations than money. Don't rush it and get crazy, that's where ya make the mistakes. Try to use ur want for power too do some solid research and plan around what u can afford. Maybe a month and a half and u could have a yank, another month of saving and u could get install and tune.

Op to be honest if you are looking to cut corners putting you're car together it will not run well. If you don't have the money for a $750 converter wait. Fast, cheap, reliable pick 2.

Yep, don't skip on crappy parts. You'll regret it in the longrun. Go straight to Yank and order one. Probably the best bet.

My car as it sits smashes anything anyone drove at my high school now that im moving up in the world on to college i figured it was time to have my ride move up with me. I plan on having this car a longgg time so waiting is no problem. Just getting the advice ahead of time

haha i didnt lose any with the auto, and i run the auto vs the 6 speed the day after i got home, 4 lengths faster in the 1/4 lol, might be just the color though haha

and i still need to get it tuned lol

But to answer the OP...Tune, Headers, Stall, Gears...it'll pick up about a sec..if not more.

This is very true. And yes there are v8 ricers. I've seen it. Roush Boss 302 GT Cobra Mustang. oh yeah and this vette is a prime example of domestic rice.

This is the second thread where I've seen you trying to instigate a flame war over ricer comments. Stop trying to create a problem where there isn't one. Having said that, just keep in mind that this IS a domestic/GM board, and lots of people here hate ricers, and some of us just dislike imports in general. If you can't handle threads with opinions of this nature, then I suggest that you just avoid the threads in question rather than trying to derail the thread.
