Pontiac G8 2008-2010 - Traded the G8 (indiana)

Warranty was up and had enough of fixing it. Never have I had to go through with the car out of the dozens ive been through.

Anyways, traded it in at Andy Mohr nissan on lafayette rd in indianapolis. Got $22,000 for the trade so you know what they have in it if you are interested in it.

Buyer beware, and good fucking luck to ya if you do buy it. By the way, theres still a god damn rattle in the passenger door the dealer has "corrected" twice now. I doubt they did anything at all but who knows.

The G8 was a really nice car, but I just think mine had a rough beginning. Maybe when the 2014 SS comes out Ill give it another go with a new one.

Been there done that. I traded it for a 2008 Pathfinder to tow the boat.

My G8 had dash rattles and one that sounded like it was coming from below the passenger seat. Never went down any dirt/bumpy roads and only had about 60K miles.

Good riddance.

My GXP I bought new is still tight as a drum. It has never had any issues or needed repairs and doesn't even have the dreaded steering shake. It was wearing the front tires funny but the dealer said they corrected that.

I have someone that wants to buy it and now I'm thinking as good as it is I should just keep it.

24,000 miles, occasionally driven around town and has gone on a lot of road trips to Vegas, SoCal, northern AZ, etc. It was eating the shoulders of both the front tires and the dealer adjusted the front suspension under warranty.

They are asking $25,995 on their website just FYI.

At the rate I'm going it will be five or more years before I hit that.

Never an issue minus the bringing it to the dealer for the brake pedal recall and airbag recall. I've got a little less then 50k on her and they are not easy miles at all. I've had the mods in my sig since 1200 miles and beat her pretty good. What I don't understand is why still come to the G8 section of the board and remind those of us that still enjoy ours how badly and why you hated yours all the time. Maybe you had a lemon, or hell maybe even in Austrailia they have their Monday and Friday build cars (lol). But don't constantly bash the car in the G8 section of the board to those of us who actually enjoy ours, because you didn't. Or hell keep doing just that, it is a free country after all and I don't own the internet. Just my .02!

Damn dude did I hurt your feelings ragging on what a nightmare MY g8 was? Plenty of other threads about selling/trading their cars as well.

Yeah, a lot of people are really sensitive about their cars. I mean, I bought mine new with 3 miles on the clock and I've had a crap ton of issues as well. I stuck them out and still have it today, but the amount of stuff wrong is astounding.

I just noticed a few weeks ago that the windshield is delaminating near the top corners as well. Not great quality on these cars, IMO

We had the common 09 issue of water from the A/C evap puddling in the driver's footwell. Got it fixed under warranty and that's been it. 3 years, 22k and no other issues ... tire wear has been VERY even.

Interior is a bitch to maintain but the car drives like a dream.

also carfax really is a waste. if you look at their carfax it shows some of the stuff that was replaced and maintence, but ive got 3x those records, and was all done at the same dealer. yet carfax doesnt register it...

what he means is they got their $2k elsewhere. i saw a commercial once where they took a long balloon and they showed how car dealers work. if they squeeze the balloon in one area it makes another area bigger. for example, they may have increased your trade in value to $22k, but that $2k was squeezed out of another part of the deal, maybe in the new car price, maybe in the APR for the financing, but somewhere somehow they got more money out of you.

They just put it elsewhere. I sold cars for 2 years when I got out of the army and learned the business pretty well. That's how dealerships make $. They make you think you are getting more than you actually are

ahh gotcha. Well at first we talked the price of the pathfinder and didnt say we even ahd a trade. The pathfinder was listed for 16,995 and we got that down to 16,000 even. Then we said we had the G8 to trade so they had no chance to play increase the car price to bump up the trade deal. ;)

I can feel your pain. We went through the same crap of having repeated problems with an 08 TBSS. The dealerships never fixed the problems. I really think its because the dealerships treat symptoms instead of fixing problems.
I also feel bad for the next sucker that got the TBSS.

Luckily our G8 has been good with around 45k miles on the clock. Hope the V follows suit.

No problem! They are fuckin stupid asking 26 for it though. There was one here with the 19" wheels sport package and sunroof with less miles going for 23K

The dealership I work at has on 08 G8 for sale for around 23k. I thought that high but after reading some of this maybe I'm wrong.

The GMC place here had one that was loaded with everything for 16,999 with 69K miles on it. I went to go look at it and they had sold it.
