Default 67 gto ls swap

Starting to work on dads 67 gto, going to be putting a 02 Ls1 with a 4L60e in it. Here is a few pictures of where it is at so far. The car is yellow for now, it will be painted black with pearl purple later on. That is why the motor is purple. Using the auto craft oil pan and big block 396 base mounts from a 67 chevelle. Smoothing out the firewall,bc they look like they were shot with a shot gun from factory.

capown- used hooker 12611hkr engine mounts. Got those and the body bushing kit from summit. I will try to find the pic I took of the cylinder head to firewall tommorow. I took one before i cut the firewall up.

Got the firewall done, the trans crossmember was the hardest part to figure out so far. The hooker headers are going to take a little messaging to get them to clear when the motor starts shaking. The lokar column shift linkage worked great until we change the seats to buckets and floor shift. Ordering wiring harnesses and gauges this week. Hopefully will have the a/c lines and vintage air installed before they get here.

Decided to change the wiper motor over to a 91 silverado, the old motor was bad anyway. Now it will have pulse wipers. Also decided to start painting my swaps silver under the dash so I will be able to see when working under it,instead of everything being black.

"The hooker headers are going to take a little messaging to get them to clear when the motor starts shaking."

Nice job and workmanship. Would raising the motor a little help out with the headers or maybe moving it back a little?

Thanks Jon, ready to try your harness out next week. Moving the engine back some would have helped for header clearance but would have gave tunnel issues with the trans.

Have the engine harness almost installed. Going to install most of the body harness this weekend, also going to start working on putting a 94 blazer steering column in it,tilt, cruise wiper delay.

Here is pics of the steering column its a 94 s-15 blazer. The steering shaft is made from a astro van upper u-joint, 98 k1500 middle section, and slide spring. The lower part of the shaft is the 67 gto. Removed the column shifter and will shift it by hand until we swap out the bench seat for buckets and floor shifter. That way we will not have to mess with the column at that point. The wiper switch, cruise and everything will be wired to work from the column.

Well getting closer to hearing it run. Probably anther 2 weeks. Here is some pics of the speedhut gauges, before and after linseed oil. Also going to have true dual ram air. The flexalite template come off the cooling fans, but made good template for centering the air snorkels in the grills. The old wiper switch hole is now the dimmer for the speedhut gauges. The ignition switch is now a power outlet, since the wipers and ign switch is on the steering column now.
