If you had to choose would you consider a TBSS 2wd or G8 GT.

Had the same dilemma 6 months ago, after driving both of them the G8 ended up on top

I was on the same fence. Go test drive and the choice will be clear.

As far as daily driving the G8 is nicer to drive and I wouldn't buy another trailblazer.

I bought my G8 GT 2 months ago and we drive it every where. Its a great family car, awesome to cruise in, awesome power for a big sedan and having an IOM one I am constantly turning heads and getting compliments. I am more than happy I decided to get one. With magnaflow axlepacks and a rotofab CAI it sounds awesome too! :)

I choose the g8 as well. I liked the tbss but for me the g8 was the clear winner

When I sold my GTO, I was looking at 4 cars to replace it with.

Charger SRT8
BMW 335i
G8 GT
TBSS

- My mother-in-law has a 3 series BMW, and as much as I love them, there is just no back seat. I have two kids, and take frequent road trips so I had to have more room.
- I test drove a TBSS, and really liked it, but would have been stuck with the same LS2/ 4L65E combo that was in the GTO. The trannys in the TBSS's are NOTORIOUS for breaking if you beat on them, and I would have. If the TBSS would have come with an LS3 (or L76)/ 6L80E combo like the G8, I would have bought one in a heartbeat.
- My buddy has a Charger, and I just don't like the interior. Plus they are bigger, heavier, and slower with less interior space than the G8.

I "settled" on the G8, and I LOVE it. It takes well to mods, is roomier than the GTO, handles extremely well, and still manages to get decent highway mileage.

I agree the tbss is a great sleeper suv. But i hear horror stories about the gas mileage and tranny and a awd is alot to fix if breaks. Also the e fans trans cooler and so on. I test drove a few tbss and love the styling of the body. But their interior is so 1990's. The g8 me and my wife loved the interior is nicer great leg room for the backseat i might be purchasing one in 2 months from now. Also i have a dumb question the g8 gxp is a ls3. So does the g8 gt have is it also a vette motor.

Seems like you're comparing apples to oranges, no? I like the TB for the SUV feel, but I'm biased to the G8 .

G8. TBSS are nice but there smaller than a G8 on the inside, and not 100% sure but mpg should be worse on the TBSS.

I would think so as well. My dad's Envoy does horrible on gas.

G8 gets way better milage especially if you drive aggressive.

Coin toss. I had a TBSS SS3 AWD. It was awesome! I liked it because it was bigger but it had the 4l60e transmission, add a cam and i'm guessing it will blow! G8 is a head turner, and even more with an exhaust and camshaft.

owned an 11 second 2wd TBSS for four years. i loved driving it. the trans's are the weak link, but can be fixed with a one time correct rebuild (so factor that into the price). i now own an '08 G8 (#219 of the first 888 i believe). previous owner had a few DOD lifters fail and kept driving it ended up wiping a bearing out. his loss, my gain.

Just be mindful you WILL be replacing the DOD setup at some point, they will fail. So the trans in the trailblazer vs the DOD problems in the G8 pretty much offset each other (give or take a few hundred).

It's really about car vs SUV at that point. only you can decide. I would take another TBSS vs my G8 in a heartbeat. When my G8's done, if i find the right TBSS willing to trade, i will do it. Best of luck with your decision. You can't go wrong with either.
