Cadillac CTS-V - Uknown noise during left hand turns but silent during right hand turns!

So recently my car has been making this awful noise when the drive train is engaged and under decent acceleration. The weird thing is that it is partially audible in a straight line, much more prominent during a left turn and during a right hand turn the sound is completely silent. When the the clutch is pressed in and i just rev the engine the noise is also gone. I'm thinking its something with the transmission or driveshaft but not sure. Any thoughts on where to start looking?

I would check wheel bearings first.

funny you mention that, I purchased new front wheel bearings and will be installing them this weekend. But for some reason i'm no convinced this is the issue... hopefully it will be though.

Is it coming from the back of the car?

Clutch packs in the diff will grind if you don't have enough LSD additive.

mine does it at very low speeds turning left....i've always thought on mine it was the pos stock flywheel.

flywheel is brand new LS9 from Katech.. shouldn't be what is causing the directional grinding noise.

If you're referring to the clutch pilot bearing it is brand new also. I will have to take a look at the drive shaft

Hmm.. if its' only when the clutch is engaged the pilot bearing does sound like a good idea. If it happens with the clutch on or off, wheel bearings sound good too... but I would think clutch engagement wouldn't affect wheel bearings. Could be one of the CV's on the axles. Usually if it's as bad as you describe, if you jack up the back of the car, put it in gear, grab each wheel and rotate it. There shouldn't be much play/rotation available. If you can watch the axles while you do this it's easier to tell.

Stuck pistons, and worn pads. caused it to creak and groan everytime I made a hard right turn. If this is your problem, you can look at the rotors and that will give you a good indication, my rotor was scored badly.

Isn't it possible that the bushing on one of his trailing arms could be shot?

I can be in 4th at 40 and hear it when i accelerate but if i put it in 5th @ 40 and accelerate the sound seems to disappear.

Put it up on blocks and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Front wheels seemed good (still have wheel bearings coming). Checked the trailing arms and those bushings look fine. My only question would be how should the drive shaft sit in the center bearing? It seems as though its sagging a lot and not being held in the center, is this normal?

How much is a lot? Mine is sagging a little and makes no noise.

Hit the rubber center section with some lithium grease, but I doubt that's your problem. Driveshaft issues generally aren't related with turning one direction or another.

i'll try and snap a picture of it this evening to show but it seems like a lot.
