Seem likely that the funny looking valve covers are for the direct injection.

I wonder what the new intake manifold will be like....... Seems kinda short for a truck.

I like the pyrometer bungs for each cylinder.

I guess the Canadians have been pricing themselves out of manufacturing. There used to be a sticker on 1st generation big block Camaros "Towanada the #1 Team" as they were #1 in GM quality control for powertrain in the late 60's. Must have had something to do with all the fast and high powered supermodified racers running around upstate New York, many were wrenched on by people in the know at that plant. Glad to see the business return home where it belongs

i doubt they are pyrometer bungs unless its just for testing. def an odd looking engine but rent they all when they first come out?

That was my first thought, intake doesn't seem tall enough.

It's weird though... Almost looks like a 2 piece. Maybe someone's been paying attention to FAST

Any idea what the piece just forward and under the exhaust manifold is? With the pulley on it.

It does look two piece given that its two colors, looks like it would bolt together.

Any idea what the piece just forward and under the exhaust manifold is? With the pulley on it.

good question

Actually that intake looks about the same height, it just looks that way from that engine cover.
That's an awesome pic though, very exciting. Looks like they moved the water pump over a bit, relocated the tstat. I wonder what that thing at the bottom is.

My first thought was a really odd looking power steering pump....?

Aren't they going to have electric power steering? So a power steering pump is unecessary?
IDK.

External oil pump?(for the single turbo that is on the other side of the engine; lol)

The intake def has a cover on it.

Can't see the injectors, even with enhancing the photo.

My guess it's is a belt driven fuel pump to ramp the pressure up for direct injection.
