For Sale: 1998 Pontiac MECHAM Trans Am, #004, built LS7/427 570rwhp

This car is production number 004 Mecham T/A built in 1998, the fourth Mecham Trans Am ever made. The car originated from Bob Howard Pontiac of Oklahoma City. I have the original window sticker as well as the Mecham dealer display sheet and a written letter of authenticity from Dennis Mecham. The instrument cluster was sent to Mecham Design and autographed by Dennis Mecham, an extra touch done by original owner. Have quite a large amount of documentation of mods, builds, parts. The car now shows almost 46k on the odometer and approx. 3500 miles on this engine, and has been garaged since it was new. The interior still looks like new with little wear on the seats; in fact, passenger seat was rarely used, rear seats, probably never. Ashtray probably never had a cigarette in it. The exterior is in excellent shape as well. Paint is excellent for its age, even for a much younger car; there are a few small chips and scratches, the worst are on rear edges of headlamp covers, the easiest part of car to paint. Body very fine, no dings larger than a thumbprint, possibly PDR. There’s a tear in the driver’s window tint. Photos attached of all flawed areas. From the genuine GM LS7 block to the carbon fiber driveshaft, the LG Motorsports parts, this car’s build was aimed at ‘best of everything’. If you do not like attention from car-people, this is not for you. It turns heads and starts conversations wherever it goes.

NO A/C, removed by previous owner. Also, the 422CI stickers on the hood are from the previous build, as the car currently has a 427CI LS7.

I can't believe you are selling it. I remember when the org owner had it for sale and wanted it then. The original owner ( forgot his name) took great care of her.

Beautiful Car! If it's still available in a year get a hold of me. I might just have to buy it at that point... Hopefully whether you own it or not it'll be available at that time..

If anyone is in need of financing try Pentagon Federal Credit Union. They offer 1.99% on used car loans with no restrictions on year. If you are not a member of the armed forces, it is $15 to join & apply.

Clean car, not happy that it's not the original engine nor transmission that sort of kills the "collector" aspect of it and hurts the value a little bit.

What is the VIN# and do you have the receipts for the work done? PM Sent.

Any chance we can get a video? I'm not asking for a racing clip, but just an idle clip or drive by or something?

Thanks!! :drive:

Can it handle a lil nos? Plus do u have a video clip of runnin?

07-30-2012, 04:54 PM
Sorry for not replying sooner, I rarely get on Tech unless I have a PM alert. I suppose I could get a little video up in the next few days. As far as four owners, no real answer there beyond the obvious- that the car has changed hands a few times. I have all receipts for the engine & tranny build, as those were done during my ownership. I can pm the vin for anyone who wants to run a carfax as well.
