Default Couple Exhaust Questions

I'm removing all the old crappy exhaust off my car while I put everything back together on the motor right now. So I was wondering what kind of mufflers do you guys run that sound good on these cars? And I don't have any emissions so I've been considering removing the cats as well. I want the car pretty loud but not to the point where I can't have some fun within city limits lol

Honestly damn near anything besides SLP Loudmouth and Flowmasters.
It's all about personal preference. Hooker aerochamber sound good.

I've never been a fan of flowmasters but I love SLP Loudmouths lol. Those are what I run on my Cobra. But I wanted to go with something different on my Camaro. I'll look into the Hooker Aerochambers though. I've heard good things about them

Was that with shorties or stock manifolds?

Get yourself a nice quiet muffler for the city and a cutout when you want to be obnoxious open it up.

Dude those mufflers sound amazing. Thanks for the video! The cut outs you have, are they electric or the less expensive wire ones?

Man $285 is expensive for one muffler lol I guess I never paid attention to Borla prices. I'll probably just buy this muffler and a cheap cut out myself then take them to my local exhaust shop and have them make a whole new system for me (minus headers). Should I buy a brand name Offroad Y pipe or just have the shop fab up one?

Long tubes to a 3" True Dual X Pipe. I'm sure you can pick a good muffler or bullet.

It's just one muffler, I paid $175 on Ebay from a place called Wicked Nickies, and the cutout my wife bought a cheapy electric from Summit three years ago. I bought a 3" cheap extension pipe for an LS1 ($98) and it mated up to the Hooker y pipe. So I built my own high flow cat back system on the cheap.

IMO you gotta have true duals on these cars. It really gets rid of the "ypipe" sound they all have. I personally never ran this setup, but i heard a SBC car with an xpipe and two spintech pro street mufflers. It was NASTY!!

I'm so sick of my SLP on my car, it's just way to loud anymore and attracts the damn cops too. I might just be getting older too (22) idk but it gets real annoying not being able to just cruise without making a huge racket. Next setup hopefully this winter is a cheap summit universal x-pipe and hooker aerochambers dumped under the rear seat. I really want cutouts too but we'll see.

If i were to make a true dual x pipe setup it would be 2.5" pipe. dual 2.5" would flow a ton and be plenty for about 98% of cars; not to mention how much easier to route/tuck them under the car would be.

Dual exhaust really isn't even warranted in this situation. I run 11's with a single 3", and I know some around that run high 10's with a single 3". I believe op and most do it for a different sound.

Hmm yeah I'll probably just stick with a single for now. Atleast until I get some longtubes.
