2001 SoM Trans Am WS6 totaled by Hit and Run! Part Out soon! Well guys after just having this car fixed up and Painted SoM back in April. This morning on Friday the 13th some jackass that stole a Jeep Liberty was vandalizing trash cans and going about 60mph and smashed into my baby parked . I was asleep when it happened around 1:30am when my roommate came running in. The kids that hit my car totaled their Jeep and took off and left it there. Going to talk to the Insurance company tomorrow about getting it settled. Def going to be buying it back and either parting out the whole car or selling it as it is.

Well the car that hit it had paper tags from 6/26/12 and had the insurance info inside. The cops think it was the owner's kids that took the car. Cuz it wasn't reported stolen til he called the owner in front of me

yeah people dont STEAL a car then go knocking over trash cans, thats kids out joyriding in daddys car, they reported it stolen so there kids wouldnt get in trouble, i say dust for prints on the truck and maybe some of those knocked over trash cans

Yeah the cop was handling was saying that it was probably the kids joyriding and they just bought the car back on the 26th from a dealership so they have insurance. Our car values have gone up in the past year too so I'm hoping to get a good price and keep the car to sell it or part it out cuz everything from the driver door to the front is great.

If the cops can prove it was the kids joyriding ( sorry to say that's a big IF) they will barged criminally for damage to personal property. The downfall if the judge is convinced they can't pay for it then ur kinda sol. That's when u can either have their insurance company pay for it which again if the cops can prove it, or you can file a civil suit for the property damage ( if you have a good enough lawyer maybe emotional harm which will add to your award). Shitty situation!!

Yeah I'm trying to make the best of all of this. Making me lose money today pissed me off too. SMH! They're lucky I'm a nice chill person haha.

Ain't even my car and it pisses me off. Hate to here this OP. I had someone back into my car and leave and since I didn't get crap off the other car, insurance wouldn't do crap since I have basic coverage on it.

Sorry to hear, man. The exact same thing happened to my 01 Duramax a couple years ago, like down to the tee, but now I have my H1 and wouldn't have it any other way. I hope you can find some good in this like I did.
