Default 03 Z06 P0336 on stock engine after short drive

I recently got a sweet deal on a 03 Z06 that dropped a valve and junked the original engine. I bought a shortblock and a set of Z06 243 heads and along with the original cam and lifters I put it back together. I pre lubbed it and when I started it the car fired up like I had just shut it off. It ran perfect no SES nothing. After a short drive all was good. I proceeded on a 10 mile drive to my house. As I got home I pushed in the clutch and revved it to maybe 4k to give my neighbor a little pipe music (he was on the porch). When I pulled into the drive thats when everything went bad. The car started missing and stumbled when you tried to rev it. Once you got above 1800-2k it revved good. It was missing on 4 cylinders 3,7,2,4. I pulled the valve covers and everything was okay except the oil pump bypass stuck. I got it back to the shop changed the pump and had a P0336 code. I replaced the crank sensor, the old one had a mark in it. I changed it with one exactly like it and it marked that one, dug into it. I had another sensor with a different part number out of a 01 LS1 it was 1/8th shorter and I put that in there. Still no dice, the P0336 came back. Could I have a bad cam sensor? The car starts and runs but when you rev it it spits and sputters until 1800-2k then it revs. While idling it pops a little through the exhaust like a bad plug which I still need to check. It does not make sense that the car ran perfect. I can't believe that it would need a relean since it started out ok. I need the trouble shooting procedures so I can check voltages. The only other thing I can think of is a ground? I know the one on the drivers head and head to body are tight and I am lost here...SUX. Thanks for any help

I did read through like 100 P0336 code posts but most dealt with aftermarket cams, headers, etc this car is bone stock.

Check on the back of the drivers side head and make sure the 3 ground wires didn't come loose or break of the connector, and the front passengerside head ground

+1 for checking the grounds, this seems to be most often overlooked causing various problems such as yours.

Ok it took me a bit to figure this out. I hope it works as I have never hosted a video. You can see the damage to the reluctor wheel pretty clearly...CRAP! Click on the pic and it should play, I am still getting the hang of this and got a virus trying to get divex to work

Ouch. That's too bad but at least you were able to track down the issue. Hopefully there is not other damage and you can break down the block and get the reluctor wheel replaced

Check your rockers really good and look to see if any of them puked out there needle bearings.....it looks like something hit the reluctor wheel pretty good and you might have some prices laying in the pan that can lead you in the right direction to what let loose to hit it like that.

Oh does your new dog do any good tricks, like play dead? Lol

There is definitely a piece of something flinging around. Did you have any warranty on the block?

I believe the piece to be a windage tray nut. I am not missing any.

I fixed it...It took 2 new pistons and 2 new valves, a reluctor wheel, and some gaskets. It really sucks but what are you gonna do? The seller never had it running and I had no missing or extra hardware. If you look at the bottom end there is no way it could have fallen in with the windage tray and oil pump tube installed. I'm not gonna bash him or anything but lesson learned. Check used stuff very carefully.
