so like the title says, the ring and pinion, spider gears and posi all broke on me this past week. i popped the cover out came chunks of teeth and springs etc...lots of broken stuff. so i am looking to upgrade to a 9". at this point i am looking at quick performance. they seem to have some good prices compared to other vendors on this site. I cant seem to decide on what center section to go with. i know i dont want a spool since its a street car and i have been told to stay away from the detroit locker as well. so that pretty much leaves the true-track and trak lock. the trak lock is said to be good for 500 whp? well im at 440 now with stock heads and intake, so im guessing i should go with the true-track? input on this would be great. and also the car is a 2001 m6 with abs\tc. i have been thinking of deleting that as well. i never use the tc at all. i know i need to get the billet 1350 yoke. any info and suggestions would be great!!

go with the truetrac It will behave very similiar to the original zexel posi that was in your TA, except its much stronger.

yes after reading more and more that seams the way to go. i am actually looking at the s60 at this point. yes its heavier then the 12bolt and 9" but its a hell of a lot stronger and is cheaper then everything else. i was like looking at central racing parts who are a sponsor on here and are running a special so the pricing is even better. here is the link. http://centralracingparts.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=24_51&product_id=229
now i know since its such a beefy axle\gears its going to lose more power then a 12bolt and 9". does anyone know that differences between each rear end?

wow what an awesome article. after reading that it seems to me the s60 really is the way to go, unless i misunderstood? cheaper, barely heavier, stronger and makes the same power as a 9" and a little less then a 12bolt.

I dropped a few HP on my S60 (dyno proved), but it was worth every penny. I went with the s-track diff and 4.11 gears.
When I mean dropped, around 5 HP/2 lbs tq, I still did a 420 HP/391 tq. Not bad, I had some tuning issues, repaired some vacuum leaks, changed tunes from HP Tuners to EFI Live and couldn't be happier.

My S60 with 4.10/S Trac just came in a few days ago. Central Racing Parts, Carl is the best to deal with, you wont be disappointed. Many others on here can vouch for him as well. The price and strength cannot be beat. If money is no object go with a fab 9, but if your on a budget like I am, S60 cant be beat.

Yes, I am very happy. Very easy install...not as light as the 10B, that is for sure.

If you don't have the funds to drop right now, I have a 10B not in use...

Go with the truetrac. I ran one for 2 years at 540 to the wheels and i was not easy on it. It was very smooth and worked very good.

Go with a Moser 9" and keep the abs/tc!

have any of you guys done the abs\tc delete? im almost just tempted to leave it in the car now since its going to cost more to delete it. also what shock setups are you guys running? im leaning heavily towards the strange single adjustabls. i have the eibach pro kit springs they drop it 1.5 which i dont know how well works with those shocks?

dont mean to interupt, but how is the ground clearance between stock, 9" and S60? im also running a lowering setup (BMR). Just curious of any issues with the bigger center sections

what suspension are you running? im thinking of doing competition engineering adjust shocks in rear and strange single adjustables up front. ive been told to put stock rear springs in the back and do heater hose mod for them. still cant decide on front springs?

All Midwest Chassis for me...
MWC Adj Lower Control Arms
MWC Adj Short Tunnel Mount Torque Arm w/ driveshaft loop
MWC Adj Panhard Bar
BMR Lower Control Arm weld-in Brackets (came with S60)
QA1 Single Adj Rear shocks
QA1 Single Adj R coil overs up front
Stock Rear Springs w/ heater hose mod
Stock sway bars with poly mounts

All MWC components were new, QA1's were used. In total I probably only have 1000-1200 in the rear suspension. IMO it was the best bang for the buck! To have the option of on car full adjustablity is great piece of mind!

Depending on what your goals are, look into a drag coil over set up for up front. Well worth it. My car can be adj to drive like a caddy, or to be set on kill and leave like a raped ape! I love my suspension combo!

i have full suspension as well except for good shocks, i was still on stock decarbons and eibach prokit. ditching the pro kit. was thinking of the strange sa up front and comp engineering adjustables out back wih stock springs and hh mod. do you have pics of how your car sits?

I'm a mdw chassis boy as well. Still putting miles on it, but not one issue, very silent, and no more play like the 10 bolt had. And it looks bad ass.

28 inch tire out back

alright great news, ive been looking into getting a 28" tire for out back instead of my 26" and stock springs with the hh mod like you have is lowered about 1" right?. ive been reading up on it lately, and i think with the 4.10s id be better off with the 28" tire. what do you think?

I was between a 26 and 28 initially as well. The main draw for me to the 28 was extra cushion for street driving on my spool. Also I feel with my plans and goals, 28 will be fine. I have 3.73's and with that tire they seem to pair up well. The real test will be this weekend when I go to the track with this current set up and I see exactly where I will trap at! I will keep you posted.
