Default Pump not primming, but runs fine

I noticed the other day that my car was real hard to start, so I checked into it and the fuel system is not priming right. When I turn the to on, it pressurizes it to 30psi but as soon as it hits 30psi you can hear something kick and it drops all pressure. Once I get it started it runs fine. What controls the priming? Thanks

It sounds like it is priming correctly but it is not holding pressure.
It only primes for approx 5 seconds.

If your pressure suddenly drops after the prime, you likely have a hose leaking in the tank, a bad regulator or an injector leaking.

It was the feed hose in the tank, you are my hero. Now for a question, when I first bought the car last year, the hose in the tank was cracked. I replaced it with rubber injector hose and it did not hold up, what can I use to replace it with?

The factory flex hose is what you need.

Rubber will fail....

yeah, I found out that rubber fails the hard way haha. Where do I get a factory flex hose? I never could find one except with buying a hole new bucket or a pump kit.

any fuel ine that meets SAE 30R10 will do. This is a very specific requirement.

I'm glad this thread was started as it gave me somethings to look at. I have to prime my truck about 3 times to get it to start. The first 2 times I can hear the pump but its faint. Around the 3rd time it sounds normal.
I pulled the fuel rail out to check for a leaky injector. didnt find one. I then pulled off the main fuel line to see if I was even getting fuel while priming. I let it prime once, checked the line and there was nothing. So I primed it 3 times and then I heard the pump get louder and then there was fuel coming from the line. Next thing to check is the intank hose. Does it sound like this hose is the problem? I also already swapped the fuel reg.
