Today I went to get the tune started for my '06 SS. While looking through everything the car's computer we noticed there was a section for E85. If our cars are set up for E85 what else would you need to add to it so I can use E85?

When I ran E85 on my truck it made everything run hotter, but it was also flexfuel too. I would think that you would need different spark plugs. I dont know for sure, good luck!

If you want to run it you'll have to change your stoich AFR, and you may need bigger injectors? I think the general consciences is its not worth the hassle if your not running boost.

That's weird E85 burns cooler than gas. I wouldn't think it wood make you run hot unless you running really lean?

The Gen IV V8 trucks with E85 capability have larger injectors.
I would also cross-check the part numbers on the fuel lines for a FlexFuel Impala vs a non-FlexFuel Impala of the same year. There might be differences in metallurgy or seals and fittings.

I'm pretty sure anything made after '85 can run E85 thru the fuel system.

I know about the bigger injectors. The computer has the E85 tables in it. Also I was told there was some type of exchangers?????? etc that you need to make it work.

The only thing you have to do is change you stoich to 9.7
After a couple tanks(I did $5 three differnt times just to get the gas out) retune VE table.
IDK about your injectors? I was running 42's @ 6 psi, wasn't even close to maxing out the injectors.
I know all the tables are there but I couldn't get them to work. I had heard they did away with Fuel Composition Sensor in '06, and started using the O2 sensor to determine alcohol content. (after 7 or more gallons at fill up)
I had no luck with it but I'm not that good with HPtuners.

Thank you. That's a start at least.

You could try it with the stock injectors, just keep an eye on injector duty cycle at wot. I don't think you want to go over 80%.
