Aluminum drive shaft question
Well I got a question about aluminum drive shaft over a steel drive shaft. Right now I have a 3" steel shaft and was thinking about running a 3" aluminum one. My question is, is it really worth spending 500 dollars? Does anyone know what kinda ets that I would pick up at the track?

I do not know how much ET you would pick up, think it would be small.
The reason I jumped into your post is to suggest that if you are going( which I did)
aluminum I suggest 3 1/2" not 3", which may hurt ET but unless you are around /over 1000 HP you will never worry about a shaft again
PM Bob at Brute Speed about the weight aluminum/steel
just my 02s Johnny

Thanks Jonny for the info. I am making 440rwhp right now and don't think I'll be doing any more performance stuff to add power. I kinda just wanting to get everything I can from the power level I am at. I was told that the 3" aluminum shaft holds 500 hp. Also is 500 shipped good for a 3" aluminum drive shaft?

I sell the PST 3.5" aluminum driveshaft, which is lighter than the steel driveshafts and much stronger than the factory steel and aluminum driveshafts. I doubt you would notice a difference in et though. Thanks. Bob

7/2/2012 PST is out of their forged yokes, so I am having these driveshafts ship with the more expensive Strange forged yoke. This is the reason for the recent price increase.
