550 crank HP N/A LT1
I know there are endless LT1 rebuilds tip threads but ive decided to push it to a whole new level. I know who to call (A.I) on this one or ellwein engines, but with a good solid $10k is it possible to make a 550hp daily drivable N/A LT1 running on pump gas? or is this nearly impossible? If it isnt then

HAHAHAHA, nice one. If you want it to be that much HP N/A for that price, your best option would be to stroke it, but you have to think about more than the motor man...the rear end, the tranny, suspension, it all comes into play...so you will build up to 10K in a HURRY....I am finishing up mine right now and I am over 10k.
Therefore I am with Joe on this one...his is a proven car with more than enough power and under 10k for the entire thing.

It can be done if you insist, or already have a good foundation to put it into.
What will kill you will be the supporting mods - fuel system, rear end, transmission, tuning, etc. Buying a complete car like Joe's will save you a TON of money in the long run.

As stated A transmission to support that horsepower is 3k to buy one & a rear diff is around 3k , good crank & rods plus bearings 2065 , custom pistons for nitrous or blower are 1k , Heads are 1600+ ,machine work atleast a grand Then youve got rear suspension etc.... Buy his for 9500 sounds pretty good Already done 10k really dont go far when you build one right. Not to mention rims & tires ,paint sound system Just like my Uncle used to say How fast you wanna go = How much money you got ta spend Ask me how I know Im buildin a 396 LTx 95 Ram Air T/A & have built a few more

Joe's car is tried and tested and still a street car that runs 10s! Ive though about buying it and still in the back on my head once i get some things paid off. Me id rather pay 9500 vs 25-30k and avoid all the stupid snags that go along the way when dialing in a car like that. Its a get in and go reliable street driven 10sec car. It really doesnt get any better then that!

I would buy the car listed above in a heartbeat before I tried to dump money that project. Even if you sold your car for a $1, you would be money ahead not to mention time, aggravation, etc....

Its a steal and I am amazed he still has it. $9.5k for a car with easily over $25k worth of documented parts, with time slips and video proof of everything doesn't come along every day. Its a turn key beast that has 10.5s in it as-is if you are willing to sacrifice some streetability.
If I had the extra cash, and wasn't already ~15K into my car, I would gut it, throw an aftermarket computer on it, replace the baby cam with a nasty SR, and let it rip .

Ive run into this before, the people buying the car are all probably trying to justify the price to their banker, who will not pay a penny over Kelley blue book.
