Well, not new, but new to us. I've always been a fan of the CTS-V's but never really pulled the trigger on one. My wife has been wanting a CTS for a while now and just yesterday I spotted this one on craigslist about 1.5 hours south of us. It was kinda late but we tried calling anyways. We talked about the car for a little and I told him I wanted to check it out. We drove down to Fresno this morning (ironically that's where we bought our Z06) to check it out. We looked it over then took it for a spin. It's a nice car, I love the fact that it shares the same drivetrain with the Z :) For the price we couldn't pass it up. We paid $13K, and it has 71K miles on it and it's in really nice shape. Here's a few pix

Lol, yea not bad. I called him at almost 10 PM, he listed it at 7:30 yesterday. I hope it works out as well. My Escalade has been running forever so I hope this one will be just as good.

Ask him if he's changed the transmission and differential fluid. If not, that's your first task if reliability is a priority.

Don't know if he has, but I have a friend that works at a shop that will do it for me. Im doing oil, diff and tranny tomorrow.

Damn!!! Steal at $13k!!

I thought so

Nope clean title. I wouldn't have bought it if it was salvage title...no way!!

Added an interior pic just now too. It was getting dark so the pic is not the greatest.

clean car for that price. Our resale doesn't seem to be as strong as people wish it to be.

That's a real good steal! Congrats! You'll love it.
I stole my 2005 V last year for 12.9k too, but mine had 95k miles. Clean title as well.

Thanks guy's! Yep bone stock, only way I really wanted it. I wasn't actually even planning on buying a car, just happened to be looking around. I was thinking it's too good to be true, because I was just looking at an 05 at a dealer for $20K. I know the dealers are a ripoff, but still. It will remain mostly stock, later on I might throw some true forged wheels on it, but that's it.

Wheels and mounts... After u change all the oils of course.. But deff change out the motor, trans and diff mounts.

It's one of those things that really tighten up all te loose ends and make the car feel 100x better. Plus they will go no matter how nice u drive it.

Congrats on the car yet again.
The car sale looked something like...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0hoQBwN-go

2 things were wrong and wayyyy too fictitious with the vid though...
1 was how easy the Crown Vics keep up when they should have been smoked...
But the 2nd and worst was how easy he found reverse. LOL

You should also replace the shifter and bushings, and also the stock clutch has got to go. If GM had done that from the factory, this car would be In the discussion for "best ever"

Insanely good deal!

Looks like I'll either get buried with mine, or it's getting rammed into a wall when I get sick of it lol.

Congrats on the new ride at a great price. As some others have said, go ahead and do the CS mounts and shifter bushings and be done with it rather than have issues down the road.

UMI makes some nice mounts. There are a few good options available.

Thanks guys. It's really my wife's car (and yes sometimes she drives crazier than I do) My DD is a Chrysler 300C. Lol, we're definitely not new to fast cars though. I think the V will stay mostly stock for the time being.

WTF? That's crazy, you got one hell of a deal! Are there any known issues with it, like the dreaded rear end whine?

No rear end whine that I can hear. We just changed the diff fluid and gave her a fresh oil change yesterday, plan on doing the tranny, clutch, brake fluids in the next few days as well.

Amsoil the way to go IMO

I've used Amsoil before in my Supercharged Vette and to be honest I didn't notice a difference. I just don't like that it needs to be ordered all the time.

Lol, just ordered a personalized plate. I've always had one on every car I own so figured why not. Had to keep with the "Quik" theme like my user name. I just took this pic off the computer when I ordered it, I can't believe it wasn't taken (everything seems to be)
