You don't see this often, it's not even broken in yet:

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?endYear=2002&zip=92128&engineCode=8+Cylinder&transmissionCode=AUT&modelCode1=CAM&makeCode2=PONT&modelCode2=FBIRD&makeCode1=CHEV&startYear=1998&showcaseOwnerId=56029713&bodyStyles=COUPE%2CHATCH&maxMileage=75000&searchRadius=300&listingId=326109040&Log=0

I'd buy it if it weren't so high but it would be a bit of work being it sat so long.

Isn't that amazing? Incredible that you can still buy a new Trans Am after a decade. Actually that price is very accurate for such an example. That is what they go for and what sellers get. It may take time but it will sell. Some owners, myself included, would love to buy a new T/A if their current T/A was wrecked or stolen, etc... I'm sure this car could be had for about $23,000 or so. The 'sitting too long' issue shouldn't be too bad after 11 years. It's getting up there in age but from what I have experienced with my local car collector club, the 'storage' issues generally arise after about 15 years in modern cars. Of course we are talking garage-kept cars, not cars left in the elements.

That's awesome! There's a 600 mile TA down in West Palm for around $25,000 I think..brand new.

Well the next owner will need at least new tires and battery. Drain and refill fluids would probably be good too.

what I wanna know is how could you own that car for so long and only drive it 499 miles! I get a little eager after a couple days!

I agree, but usually a 'collector' has these type cars and they are just for 'show'. I bought my '07 GT/CS this past winter with only 3,000 miles on it. The guy that owned it had 12 cars!! He liked to look at them in his garages and rarely drove them. I bought a 'new' 5 year old car. The same will apply to the new owner of this beautiful T/A, and at about 33% off the sticker :)
