I recently found a sunset orange 01 manual trans am. It has 37,000 miles and seems to be in great shape. It has an aftermarket hood, almost like a ws6 hood, but a tad bit boxier. The owner believed it to be a true ws6, until door codes proved wrong. So basically it is a som ws6 clone. Nearly stock. What do you think it is worth?

Really depends on what else is all done to it, but I'd say around $8,000 is it was really clean. Now a days you can get a 10 second car from 9,500 to about 13,000. Just my .02

It has chrome zr1's with 315 rears. Headers(not sure on brand yet), cat less y, and slp cat back. Rear ws6 emblem, and I believe it is a "ws7" hood. Also has an aftermarket rear sway bar. So nearly stock. And I'm looking for a dd anyways, not a 10 sec ride lol. Thanks for the help!

It's a $9-10k car.

Although the SOM color is very desireable to some, the mods (no, it is not close to 'stock') are a 'turn off' to just as many. The mileage is the saving grace (if not abused miles) and the car should be in the $12,000 area at the top end of the price range (again, due to the low miles). The fact that the car was misrepresented as a true WS6 is not good so you really will need to do your homework on this one. It may not be worth the $12,000 at all. Price guides will show this price all day long but the true condition and type of ownership definitely factor in. Make sure the title is clean and the Carfax OK. Obviously the owner can not be counted upon. Best of luck!

Thanks guys, he was asking 14k and wouldn't budge. I even offer 13,000, which was more than I wanted to pay. So it's back to the drawing board.

Smart to move on. Isn't he wondering why his car isn't sold yet?? Asking WS6 money for a clone is odd unless he still is pretending it is a WS6. I hope not. That would be a shame for a 'newbie' to think he was buying a WS6.
