Default Cam suggestions for a 408

I got my rotating assembly in, thanks AP Engineering. Now the search is on for a camshaft. I would like a descent size cam but, not something I will have to idle at 1,000 or change valve springs ever 10,000 miles. I will keep the truck intake and spray a 175 shot. I will have a 3,400 stall, 10.2:1 compression, and a good set of heads.
I was wondering if I should consider a custom cam for my setup. I believe that most cams for GenIII smallblocks are designed for a car with a shorter runner intake.
P.S. AP Engineering was a pleasure to deal with. I changed my order 3 times and still got the kit quick.
