Hey guys i just had one of the worst experience of my 33 years dealing with folks on the phone with Tick Performance. I called about a racetronix pump, first the guy just said he was the salesman and told me if i dont buy the whole kit with full wiring harness it would be worthless because the pump itself is just like any other fuel pump replacement and they wont even put them in at there shop without the full kit. Then when i said, really, the racetronix ads say the pump is alot more, he said well i dont know. Then i said can i please talk to someone else because you are ruining my experience here and he said well we are closed, im the owner and we are just a small operation and hung up. Does anyone know of another place with good customer service that will sell me a good pump. sheesh.

I am a authorized dealer & sell genuine Racetronix pumps & wiring harnesses... no substitutions.

As far as using the pump without the harness... I recommend the harness as the factory wiring is marginal with the higher current draw of the larger pump. Tick performance was not out of line recommending the harness, I always do. Yes it will work without the harness, but you should still get it for best results.

Due to the age of the factory wiring in the 99-02 f-body cars and the every increasing problems with the fuel module connector system we will eventually discontinue our FPWH-001 (http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.asp?ic=FPWH-001&eq=&Tp=) and move everybody over to our upgraded FPWK-017 (http://www.racetronix.biz/customkititems.asp?kc=FPWK-017W&eq=) kits.

I wouldn't trust any of the stock wiring, I bought my friend a 340 pump and hotwire kit, worked fine until a 6hr drive and the car starting running lean. Come to find out the pins on the top of the pump housing had turned black. Upgraded the wiring and pins, problem fixed.

the 340's draw huge amounts of current compared to a normal 255

The FPWK-017 is much better. The reasons are listed in our web ad:

You may have a system pressure leak-down problem. Diagnostic info is available on our support forum.

You should really run the upgraded harness with the pump. It is not that much more expensive and makes sense to do it all at once. As for Tick customer service I have always had a positive experience dealing with them.

They will work but there will be a 15-20% performance hit w/o it.
There may also be long-term problems with the factory wiring/relays etc due to the increased load. It is always best to use the harness.

Does anyone know of another place with good customer service that will sell me a good pump. sheesh.I've answered almost every phone call here for the past 5 years, and I don't know if I've ever talked to somebody with a worse attitude than you had. I'm not going to waste a minute arguing with you, but I will post up my side of the story to debunk a few of your lies.

First things first: I answered the phone for your call after-hours. I just happened to be here working late when your call came in (we close at 5PM EST) and all of our other staff had gone home. Before I could even finish describing to you why I suggest buying Racetronix' wiring upgrade kit for an extra $60 over using the stock wiring harness, you interrupted me and demanded to speak with somebody else. I never told you "I don't know" or "the pump itself is just like any other fuel pump replacement." I explained to you that we're a smaller operation and that everybody else had gone home, and I said that I was the closest thing to the owner working since you called after we were closed.

Your attitude, your foul mouth and your general demeanor all added up to me ending the call abruptly with you. Times are hard and the economy is tough, but I'd have rather starved than spent another minute on the phone with you. I feel like I give top-notch customer service to every call I answer, but being a polite, courteous customer goes a long way toward having a positive experience.

I figured Tick Performance would be on sooner than later to candy coat what they did and turn it around. Did what you did and I bought from TEXAS SPEED, and did not have an issue what so ever. A poor attitude person would go to name calling and arguing on here. Enough said. Shop from them at your own risk. Thanks.
