What plans/goals do you have for the car, how much does it weigh (about), how much boost do you want to run, compression goal, and rpm range you are shooting for? Answer these questions and we can probably guide you in a better direction to get you a can you will love and work great with the rest of your setup...being a smaller displacement than the ls1 it won't have the n/a torque, but that can easily be made up with higher rpms...then add the boost on top and you could have a killer combo there
Also being a 4.8 the same cam you would drop in it will feel/act bigger than if it was in a 5.7.

goals are fairly reasonable i think....Street/strip Mustang...3200 lbs, around 15 psi on my 76mm bullseye turbo, slightly higher than stock redline, would be happy with 550hp on pump gas and methanol injection.

I think a 214/222 .559/.568 115lsa cam would work great in that setup. it sounds small, but remember it will act bigger in the 4.8
PM me if you're interested. I have LS6 springs to go with the cam.
I went bigger on my LS1, I only put about 5K miles on this setup.

You are correct sir.
It has a few degrees less duration and less lift than the 02-04 Ls6 cam. The 02-04 version is a suprisingly good turbo cam. Guys are throwing them in 5.3 blocks adding a mild turbo and getting 550 at the wheels.

That sounds about like what I was thinking on cam size
