What is it Worth? - '01 SS, Arctic White/Tan int, M6, 53k miles

Bought the car in Feb. of last year but due to $$$ reasons might have to place it back on the market.

When I bought it, goal was to make it my daily driver, because my Power Wagon was eating my ass alive when it came to gas. Well, drove it for a few months, then decided time to start replacing little things (sway bar bushings, tie rods, etc) and before I knew it, I had started a full on suspension rebuild and the car stayed in my garage from July of last year until about a month ago.

What started out with a simple set of Moog sway bar bushings, ended up with the items below:

New inner/out tie rod ends
New front pads/rotors
New Duralast Gold Battery
UMI Upper/Lower A-Arm Kit (p/n 230511)
UMI non-adjustable LCA's with relocation brackets
UMI adjustable panhard bar
UMI bolt in subframe connectors
Eibach LTI lowering springs
Koni 4/3 shocks
OEWheels 17x9.5 C5 Deep Dish Rims (black w/ silver lip)
275/40/17 Sumitomo HTR A/S tires

I might have put 500 miles on the car since the upgrades.

Not to mention an SLP lid and Kee Audio speaker system for good measures, lol...

Only other mod is an SLP Loudmouth Exhaust that was on the car when I bought it.

Mechanically, car runs great, clutch feels good. Has an Extended Warranty through NAC (Gold Protection Package) which runs until Feb. 2015 or 90k or so miles. I have the option to cancel, but not sure if i will. It may/may not be a good selling point. Car came to me w/no service records. Only maintenance I've performed is oil change (Mobil 1) and new pads/rotors in the front. I've only put maybe 3000 miles on the car since I've owned it.

The exterior is good, no signs of accidents (clean Autocheck also). However there is a decent sized scratch on passenger fender (6 inches or so) and other few nicks/dings you would expect out of a 11 year old car. The spoiler mounted brake light works, but the housing is cracking. I have a factory replacement.

The interior is is good as well. No cracks in the dash, leather has signs of wear, but no rips/tears. Headliner is good. Leather is starting to rub off the Hurst shifter. Carpet has a few small stains but nothing major. The driver side power mirror can be flaky at times when it comes to adjusting it.

I'm sure there are a few things I'm forgetting but I've rambled long enough, lol. What's a fair asking price for the car? I know I've spent way too much on mods, and wont see the full return, but such is life :jest:

First off, this is a nice write-up. It is refreshing to see after some owners ask "what's it worth' with almost no details.
The price guides should show this car in the $10,000 - $11,000 area for a 'private party' sale. The lower mileage really is a strong point. The car appears to be in 'good' condition overall. Of course ask more but you may have to settle in this price range, plus it leaves negotiating room. Hopefully you didn't have to pay much more than this last year. A few negatives that immediately stand out are the lack of prior service records, and your statement that you haven't done much either, other than the oil. I would be under the impression that all the fluids are due to be changed. If not a 'do it yourself' type of owner then this gets expensive at a garage (Dexcool flush, power steering, brake fluid, rear end fluid, etc...). Also the exhaust may turn off some potential buyers. You are quite correct about not seeing any of the suspension money you invested in. The aftermarket warranty is almost worthless from my experiences, especially ones that are passed along to another owner, no matter what the fine print states. It is rarely smooth sailing. If you can actually get $$ back by cancelling it, do it. GLWS!!

I appreciate the honest feedback. Thanks for pointing out the maintenance concerns as well; I agree 100%. I recently finished servicing the tranny/diffs/transfer case on my truck, so I'll definitely make sure things are fresh on the SS before it's listed for sale. As for the warranty, I was leaning towards cancelling and your advice just reaffirmed my thoughts.
