Default What's a 02 LS1 shortblock worth???

I am going to be listing my shortblock for sale here real soon and don't now what it is worth. It has just under 90K miles. Will include MS4 cam, lifters, ls6 oil pump and ls2 timing chain. Cam, oil pump and timing chian have under 2k miles on them. I am unsure at what to start asking for all of this. No sensors and covers will be included. I am thinking of starting at around 1500. LMK thanks

If this is for a complete operating engine then that would be a great deal.

No heads and intake brings the value down some since that is about a third of the cost of a good running power plant. But that being said if I had the extra, I would give you 1500 for that setup no problem.

Anytime at all. But you might want to wait for some of the others to voice in before listing it as they might have a better handle on number than I do. There are some very solid traders on these forums.

I don't know the casting #'s. Reason for the sale's is I am building a 408 and would like to use the money to help fund the build.

I think that the casting numbers are on the back side of the block. So if you have it out you should be able to just check it out.

Yes , on LS1 its top the block just under cylinder head deck on the drivers side. With a small mirror and a light you can probably see it , with the engine still in car.

Ebay it, you can get more on there considering most people don't know what they are worth.

I would probably only pay $800-1000 personally just because of the mileage and mods its had, but from the right person i dont see $1500 out of the question.

I paid $1500 for an LS6 shortblock with 15k on it. No cam, oil pump, etc. I sold my LS1 shortblock for $500 with just over 100k on it.

Just offering some references.
