Default Raced a C6 last night...

Off the line I just about had him until, somehow, I didn't shift into 2nd right... I pretty much missed 2nd somehow... because the car had no traction and then it grabbed so fast, idk

After I finally got it into 2nd though I kept up with him at a constant rate. I'm pretty disappointed that I possibly could have won that race.

I just got my car a week ago and i've only been driving manual for about a year now, on and off, every day for about 4 months... and I haven't raced stick a ton, still getting the hang of it. Should I just be happy that I didn't get stomped too bad by the C6 and actually kept up with him pretty well?

LS2 or 3 C6? I got destroyed by what looked like an A6 LS2 C6, but I'm only low 13's so it is to be expected. With your mods I don't know. Seems like it may be potent, but you have ported stock heads with no cam? I would say you're around a 112-114 trap with decent air so I wouldn't be too upset. But I am no expert in the LS field.

Not sure which one it was, didn't know the guy or anything, and didn't really look at the car. I"m not sure if the cam is stock or not, but i'm assuming it is... the car had a lot of stuff already done to it before I got it, and I was planning on putting a cam in it this winter. It also has an LS6 intake too and a tune. Its just bothering me so much lol I wanna get next to him again at a stoplight and see what happens if I can actually shift for once lol

A bone stock c6 useally trap 113-116 mid 12's... Useally
A bolt on f-body wouldn't keep up but since you have ported heads and don't know any internal mods been done (which is scary) you just might be able to run with a bone stock c6.

Thanks for the info, as far as what i've been told, its just the bolt ons that have been done. And it doesn't sound like there's even an aftermarket cam in it. The car only has 80k miles on it so I really don't think the engine's been torn into.

And to add it takes awhile to get good at racing a stick car, especially if your new to manual, youll have alot of missed shifts etc, few things that will help, mgw shifter, tick master and a decent clutch, those mods help alot more than ya think

A shifter was one of my most fav mods I done to my car drivetrain wise. Helped out alot with 2-3 shifts. I highly recommend a short shifter being your first mod for the drivetrain

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah I definitely need practice, luckily some stuff was already done to help me out- it already has the short shifter. It does have a hurst shift **** also.. its funny because i've only missed shifts like less than 5 times and I just happened to miss one when it was by far the most important shift of my life haha
