havent been to the track in a couple months. now i have MT drag radials, 4000 nitrous stall, and a NOS plate kit.im actually going to the track to fill my bottle so i can get it tuned, but im so anxious to spray.wondering if i it would be ok to make a pass or two? i got a 40N and 24F in it right now which is only about a 70 shot? what do you guys think? should i get it tuned first or will i be ok for a pass or two?

What is your current timing?
Do you have a way to pull timing?
what spark plugs are you running?
What fuel are you running?
Need a little more info to be safe.

not sure on current timing.i know its had a tune to accomodate the lunati cam.298/301
.595
im sure its got a good amount of timing. im running 93 octane. no way to pull timing yet.and im running br7 spark plugs. i think i should be ok on a 70shot.not ideal, but ok.just wanted to get some opinions.thanks

The br7s are good. Def run 93 octane. Since the car has a tune the timing is probably in the 26-29 range. Personally i wouldn't do it not knowing your timing, it may be fine if it's down low say in the 26 range but it also could be as high as 30. This info is coming from someone that sprays 300rwhp on a stock bottom end car. I by no means am scared to hit a car with tons of nitrous, it's just got to be done safely and she will stay together.

could make some passes on motor since you got a stall and MT radials.

If your only going to spray a 70hp shop, go dry shot. Let the maf do the tuning..

Allthough a 70 shot is small, there is a risk of detonation since your car has had it's timing advanced. That small of a shot will probably not blow your engine.
However, any detonation at all is not good.
At best, it will trip your knock sensors.
At worst...?
Be patient, and get your car dialed in right.

If you really want to spray it put.in enough race gas to bump your compression 3-4 points just for safety but they you have to drain whats left before tuning.

thanks for the info guys.turns out i was all ready to make a pass that night and they were bracket racing so the track was closed.to me anyway.i gota a full bottle now and im gonna wait on the tuner before i spray it. he's charging $300 for a street tune.$450 for dyno which he claims will only be about 3-4 hp off from the street tune.

Can you tell me how race gas raises your compression?

I did read the post!! I'm saying if he only wants to spray a 70hp shot he might wanna go with a dry shot. That way he doesn't have to tune it.
