Ok guys, I am having some grinding noises and clunking goin on when I drive slow and make sharp turns. I am convinced now the rear end is going out, but could this rear going out also be causing the car to surge? The surging has gotten worse over the last 100 miles or so and its really bad between 1500-2000 and even after 2000 it still doesnt run ok. The motor itself seems to run ok but could the rear be causing this? I had the car tuned before but is it possible for the tune to get worse, or is this the rear end?

Your thread title takes me back to prom. . .anyway if the rear is grinding just pull the cover and see what you see, it could easily be the lsd slipping and grinding. If it is you are in the process of destroying all your bearings and wearing grooves in your axles. Just pull the cover and look it takes 10 minutes. Make sure you look inside the diff itself and make sure it has all the bolts that hold it together still in place.

Welcome to the club, now buy a nine inch and don't worry about a fragile 10 bolt again!
