Default Turbo Advice. Looking to upgrade from PT88 *COMP TURBO RESULTS*

Specs on the motor:
383 LS1
WCCH CNC'd 317's
10.8:1 compression
236 232 .605 .596 115 lsa
Edelbrock Pro Flo
160lbs Injectors E85

Truck Manifold kit 2.5" crossover, T4 Flange, 4" V-band Down Pipe. A2A intercooler with 3" cold side.
Wanting to stay T4 flanged for now.
TH400
Neal Chance converter
8.8" rear with 3.27 gears
28" drag radials

Have been running a PT88 .96 A/R on an undivided T4 housing. The car made 936rwhp on 19lbs of boost, but would make 22lbs on the street. Went 9.20@155mph. Well the PT88 took a **** within 2000 miles of a rebuild (see pic) it looks like the compressor wheel touched the housing. Precision wants $1500 to rebuild it and a brand new PT88 is $1600.

Looking to upgrade to something that is still a T4 flange. Wondering what you guys think. Want to stay away from precision.

Thanks for your help.

Has anyone else had a PT88 or any Precision fail like this. I know people were having drainage issues causing them to fail but I have never seen this out of a high end turbo. Especially a freshly rebuilt one. Do you think it maybe could be the way it was re assembled?

Thanks

i had my pt88 take a crap on me after i bought it freshly rebuilt on another board. i ended up having Reed at the old super natural turbo rebuild it for me. it cost almost as much as a new one but i knew it would be done right without issues. car has been almost 154mph with it on 19psi. took a blast in it last night at 24psi and the turbo is still going strong for now..24psi was a little much for street pulls though lol. if this turbo ever went again i would like to try the gt91 i think it is?

Those batmo wheels are suppose to be pretty badass, no personal experience with one though.

its from forced inductions, it fits into a pt88 exhaust housing

i ran a 8.49 at 162 and change at 26# boost thru a stock intake and throttle body on a 364ci. at 3750# weight

the specs i didnt asked for, told em i needed it to package where my 88mm was and they delivered.

Now this is interesting. What did you run with the PT88? So Im guessing the only difference was the compressor wheels and housings?? Turbine stayed the same since it fit in the 88 housing?

Went with a custom Comp 88. Triple ball bearing billet wheel. 88/96 1.10 AR T4 flanged. Should make close to 1000hp on the same boost that it made 936 with the PT88.

Almost the same as the new one. Same size as a S475 T6 1.32 exhaust.

I would of gone bigger.

Wanted to go T6 but just dont have the room. Plus the car has already gone 155 with 900hp I think 1000hp will be plenty for mid 8s.

Turbo is being built, should be done by the end of next week.

Not without making a whole new kit.
