What is it Worth? - Which Camaro would you pick? (opinions wanted w/ pics)

Ok I'm thinking of trading my 95 lt1 Camaro for a 98 ls1 Camaro.

My 95 has bolt on mods, full exhaust, tuned, gears, wheels, hood, ac/heat removed completely.
155k miles auto

The 1998 I'm looking at has been wrecked in the front end and will need a new bumper and reprinted front clip. Body has 198k miles motor is stock and was supposedly rebuilt a few years ago (no proof) all stock no mods.

Both cars have leather with normal tears and both have cracked dash pads.

The biggest down fall is the wrecked 98 needs the frame rail straightend (which I can do no problem, just time). It does have a clear title.

I've got full suspension waiting to be installe on my car but now I'm thinking about getting the ls1 car and put it all on it and build the ls1 car. BUT the ls1 is plan lol.

The body on Both cars are far from perfect but I'd say my 95 is better. And I could alway swap in a ls motor to my 95. I like being different and there are way more ls1 cars around then lt1. I've got a 4.8 I could boost and swap in the 95 lol.

Because I could do any motor/trans combo with either car really Im just trying to pick which car to start with lol.
I do already have my 95...

Sorry for the long post! Let's hear some thoughts!!!

I vote keep the 95 and build it. I wouldn't be to comfortable with a car with a bent frame even if you can fix it yourself. Your 95 looks a lot better in my opinion. Build a motor for it and be happy. At least you know what you already got.

I agree. Plus the ls1 has quite a few more miles and with no proof of the rebuild i would be skeptic.

I would keep the car you have. If you really want to start with a LS platform I would find one with lower miles that hasn't been wrecked. And honestly, if your just looking for a good platform I would definitely keep yours since you already have the hood and rims it looks really good. So why would you want a stock run of the mill Z/28?

The only reason I want to trade is the ls1 lol. While I know I will eventually build a motor no matter what at the present time of trying to buy a house and what not the car budget will be limited the next year. And already having a ls1 would be easier to just throw and cam/stall/gears and go versus buying all my swap parts for my 95.

I guess I'm worried if I mod my ltx it wont hold it's own against the group I run around with.
Just can't get over the body of the white car. I thought my car was rough until I looked at the white car lol

Keep your car. You never want to inherit someone's problems and that's what that white car looks like.

i would ls1 swap and lose that hood.

or hold out and buy a high mile firebird/camaro/gto for cheap when a deal finally comes across and build it. example just yesterday came across a high mile firebird 2002 ws6 for 3 grand. well worth a simple motor rebuild and add a procharger or setup for the bottle.

I wouldn't trade your car... I would sell it, and buy an LS F-Body. (not one with a bent frame) Even higher mileage LS motors are better than what you have. I am sure that all of the LT1 guys will be pissed, and I'm not trying to start a big argument... but if you weigh out the pros and cons, your much better off with a LS powered car. :thumb:

I wouldn't trade your car for the white one. If you really want an LS-powered car, try to be patient. Find one that hasn't been wrecked, and that seems to be mechanically sound, and is a good deal. Buy a car because you want THAT particular car, not because it's an example of the car you want, and it happens to be available.

+1 for the LS swap, I'm debating doing it to my 97z. Plus i prefer the LT1 front ends.

Buy the LS1/harness/ecu out of the white camaro, build it on the side while you can drive your car...and then swap it when you got the time. Just my .02

IMO, keep the 95 and do a LS motor swap into it.
