Default L92 vs. 317

Alright guys, I have both of these heads for my 6.0. The l92's are on it right now with a victor jr and a carb. I will be going turbo and fuel injection soon. Which of these heads work best for boost. I know the stock flow specs of each head so I am educated in their naturally aspirated potential. I would need to buy an intake either way I go.

I would def use the l92's, unless you wanna sell the l92's to offset the price of the fuel injection as the l92's bring more money. I was in the same boat and got some Lsa heads and it will make some more power the stock 317 heads

Keep l92. Sell 317 to cover some cost of new intake

Do the l92's respond well to boost? I mean throttle response? Because I know they are "lazy" in n/a form. I've heard they push water after a certain psi? Who has personal experience boosting these?

My L92's are bolted on with arp's and mls gaskets so it setup good right now. I do have a truck intake along with the 317's I already have in the corner of the garage.

I would be fueling it with megasquirt. I guess I am just trying to go fuel injection as cheap as possible for right now. Just until I can get comfortable with tuning it. I could just buy head gaskets and slam the 317's and truck intake on it just for now to get my feet wet before i go turbo.

I have off the shelf l92's (no port work) with upgraded springs, yella terra rockers and caddy lifters on a 402.. made 633rwhp on just 8psi with twins...original APS kit and turbos. im switching my set up over to a F1A and will be using the same heads at 15 or so psi...should still net good results...they flow very well as stated.

if your bottom end is stock then for a learning curve I would through on the 317 just in case you scatter a piston, but if its a forged bottom end then run the l92 as I hope you wont be stupid on try things that could hurt the rest of the engine

Probably run it for a summer just naturally aspirated. Just to get the tune down. Then add a turbo the next season.

I've ran this carb 6.0. L92 head setup for three years and it hauls ***. Will smoke the tires at 55 mph. I drive the **** out of it. I take it on 100 mile trips for fun. 3500 rpm's the whole time on the highway.

Honestly I'm ready for fuel injection. I'm a little tired of the carb. It runs different every time I get in it. The wideband tells me so lol. Don't be offended but I think fuel injection is superior to a carb when it comes to drive ability and forced induction. I love the power that my carb makes but the drivability can suck sometimes. Mostly in the transitioning from the idle circuits to the primaries.

The fuel injection intrigues me and seems to be more consistant. With a good tune that is.

I'm sure my L92's would make more power being force fed but it seems more people have had success with 317's. Maybe only because they came stock on LQ engines.

Do turbos have any problems spooling with the intake ports being so large with the L92's? There would be way less velocity than the 317's is all.
