It hit 97 degrees with 70% humidity today. This heat just kills my desire to wrench on my car. I am tempted to a/c my garage, but I can't imagine what the electric bill would be with that. I don't have any desire to go to the track in this heat. You guys avoiding it too?

Still awaiting machine shop :(
And as for the track...hell no !!! no shade and all black top http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=I4573273215927202&pid=1.7&w=60&h=62&c=7&rs=1

It's like that here from late May through early October. I can work for maybe 15 minutes before the sweat is running off my wrists and hands, corroding everything it drips on...

My shop is 24x30 ,I put a cheap divider wall dwn the middle & put a used 220vlt 23,000 BTU window unit yrs ago....BEST ! ! ! decision EVER made .With 10' ceilings it cools real good.
Come home after work & within 1-2 hrs it is good to go ,my bill has never been over $60-$80 mo. even with some all day Saturdays in there.
Ye it is too HOT to race for me too or even cruise at night ....felt like 98 at 10:00 last night !

No doubt, It was 108 here on Friday (record high), and I was in the shop testing my fans and checking for leaks and such on my Malibu. It was absolutely brutal, but everything worked as designed and the new build stayed cool. Good day to test I guess, if it can stay cool in 108 degree weather it should be good to go...

Its roasting here too. Working to get the boat up and running in the sun today. 93 and 75% HUM. Last week was worse! I was helping my buddy sand bondo and lay fiberglass on his ZX2 commuter car, it was 101 and 75% HUM. I was a disgusting messy paste of sweat and bondo dust. Not enough cold beer in WI to keep us cool! Hoping for a break soon!
OH, and of course the A/C goes out in my truck. Perfect timing. :sack:

After being in Afghanistan for a year, no desire to work on anything in any kind of outrageous heat. Only solution, is to work at night.

Motor is out, Trans too. Started at 6, was done by 10, had to run to the main house twice. Made decent timing.

Been hot around here too in North GA. The humidity is terrible. I have a big fan in the shop, but only the roll up doors on one wall. What makes it worse for me is the creek behind the shop, the mosquitos are brutal.

Well, when I am determined I am all go. When I was poorer than I am. Ow, no garage, had to work outside in the sun on the dirt ground. I really don't know how I did that. Only drank one gatorade last night for some reason...

Deep woods off every time I hit the garage!

Was 94* here today with a high humidity rate. I got to pull my trans in a little while, so not really looking forward to it, but at least I have an old blower motor from an industrial heat/air unit. This bad boy can move some air!! lol If positioned right, it can keep it comfortable.

That's why you put garage in the shade under a bunch of trees...naturally 10-15 degrees cooler than I the sun! Even then still too hot!

The humidity cares not for shade, lol.

check out the coolers they sell at home depot or lowes. They help out a lot in the summer. Weve had weather that goes over 110* where i live, and even at night, its too hot sometimes.
