What size were your ET Streets? I don't have much to add, other than trial and error. I haven't been back to the track since I changed a couple things. So I'll be learning again when I go back. Good luck getting it dialed in.

I used Hoosier qtp 28/11.5/15 with 4.56 gears, stock shocks but MWC rear and suspension I was in the mid 1.5 60ft, tires were set at 12 psi and launch at 6k off the 2step. I found its just learning how to release that clutch just right. Not to fast not to slow just to get those to spin a few revolutions. Power wise was probly in the 380 rwhp range and a 11.60 et.

You need to know where your torque is at the max, so if its 3500rpm, you set your 2 step at 3500rpm.You will get your 60 foot times down. That's what happened to me.I was leaving at 5500 and my 60 was 1.7. Now I leave at 3500rpm and my 60 is 1.56. Try it.worked for me.

using a mclead clutch. They are the best with the new tick master so i can get it in all gears like butter. best thing i bought for the car.The clutch will hold 1000hp

WOW, I never had any luck leavin at 3500rpm .Is that with on the 2 step ? ye us stick guys need 2-3 revolutions of spin on our launch.
I have always left on the lmtr & sidestepped the clutch but am going to add a 2 step to play with. 1.62 60' was my previous best on the ET Streets.
This is why I wanted a list of as many stick setups that work as well as what it took to get to where you are & maybe it could endup a Stickie for us hard headed stick guys who refuse to go Auto :drive:

98 ss camaro 430 rwhp 410rwtq, 4.30 gears on a 26" et drag stiffwall. It depends on track prep, but generally I am leaving off the 2-step at 5500rpm or higher. Best 60 ft was 1.54, leaving at 6000rpm. Car is 3900#. I know if I left at 3500rpm, it would bog something crazy, hell 5000spm bogs like crazy.

My car likes 15 psi in the tires. Thats gonna depend on ur raceweight and what ur car likes the best.

i can add to this that et street radials or radials period are a bad idea on these stick cars. i have tried for 63 passes to get consistency out of them best 60 is 1.808 and worst is 2.4 it will vary every run with them. i have them set at 15 psi and leave at 4900 on a 2 step. some times they will dead hook most they spin real real hard.

moving on to m/t et drag 28x10.5x15 stiff sidewall bias ply.
guess i should point out im not looking for the fastest time possible out of my car just consistent. its a bracket car. im told its better to spin a bit for better times im trying to dead hook it and get as consistent as i can.

Get used to the inconsistancies as long as your running a manual with a regular style clutch. Track conditions have a much larger effect on us. A manual car will hit the suspension much more violently than an automatic even with a trans brake. The rear end will try to twist much faster and hit the driver side tire extremely hard. A good sway bar in the rear is important. I am assuming you have a leaf spring rear. Make sure you have some sort of traction bar and have it adjusted properly. The bigger the tire the more forgiving ususaly and a stiff sidewall is usually better. I run a 28/10.5 ET Drag stiff wall. 14 lb's in the driver side and 13.5 in the passenger usually works the best for me. I wouldn't side step the clutch. Even letting it out as fast as you can will give the tires a little more cusion than sidestepping. The most traction will usually come from slipping the clutch but it is very hard to get a consistant reaction time for me. If you dont have drag shocks in the fron already, they will help a lot. Subframe connectors are a must also. practice, practice. Good luck.

My car is all stock susp. with Cal Trac Split Monos ,Factory Rear Sway bar,Cal Trac Bars set to proper preload ,3 Way adj. shocks up front,Front Sway Bar Removed, 9 way adj. out back.
I am running 28/9/15 ET Drags but I do not think they are Stiffside. My best 60' to date is a 1.60 & was on the ET Streets.I have only about 4 passes on the ET Drags [broke stuff 2x]& they are alot better at launching than the ET Streets.I will Play with easing into the clutch after I freshin the rearend......after about 70 passes.I always adj. my tire press. to give about 2 revolutions on launch 15-17 psi on avg.
Also per MT Recomendations we always shoot Temp of track & tires after burnout at launch pad with a goal of tires no more than 10 degrees hotter than the track.
The "Training DVD "for launching on Drag Radials is very cool & Impressive times.....but I have seen very lil luck out of most stick cars that try this .
