My 1969 Camaro Prostreet Twin Turbo Build! Finally pulled the trigger and figured I would start a build thread since Ive had some time to get back on the car again.. The quick low down, Ive owened the car since 1997 (high school) with the good ole stock 350/4spd in it.. Slowly started working on the car while it was my dd for a few years. Finally after getting married in 2003 I had the car backhalfed and the 406sb built by Andy Jensen in Pa. The sheetmetal was never perfect on the car so I said to myself once I build a garage I will tear the car down and start redoing all the sheetmetal. So I had my garage put up in 2009 and started on the car in 2010. Replacing all the sheetmetal in the rear of the car. And have since gotten heavy into the Ls motors. So I finally decided after much thought to go ahead with it.. the car will consist of for now.
Stock 5.3 which I will end up down the road building a 370
Modified Ls3 Camaro manifolds. flipped
Turbo 400
Weld Rt-s (anodized black)
Wilwood Brakes
Fully built 12bolt (which is in the car narrowed already)
Twin Tial 50mm Bov's
Most likely 44mm Wastegtes
Full Autometer gauges (with their stock dash insert)
I will be keeping the full stock interior.
Stock Pcm for now and will switch to the Holley setup later
I am using twin percision 6265's which I got from Boosted One's Chevy II. Frank has been a big help since he is local as well as Fireball and a few other members.
The car will be done in 04 Impulse Blue with Matte stripes to match the wheels. (possibly a black top as well)
Here are a few pics of the car from 1997 on up.. I will add more as I go along. Im not shooting for any crazy goals as of yet. Just want a fun driver...but I will be adding a net and chute to get the chassis certed just incase.... Thanks for looking

Using the solid moroso mounts that were on my 406 along with 1in setback ebay plates. Basically it was just alot of small cutting and trimming to reuse the flanges on the manifolds.. actually wasnt as much work as I thought it was gonna be

I think if you cleaned up that firewall some before paint and used vbands on the manifolds instead of what you have now, the engine bay and setup will look a lot nicer for sure.
Silly to go through all that work on such a nice car and not do it right the first time IMO.

Hey what size and or type of clamp were ya using on the downpipe side of these puppies

I get the clamps and flanges right from precision. I have 2 brand new spare clamps and a set of flanges u can cut off my old downpipes. shoot me a text sometime.

Debating if im gonna use this setup of order the Obx headers.. Only nervous on how these manifolds will hold after I find someone to weld them. Thoughts anyone? Only other issue with using the obx headers is that they are a 3in outlet which will will be.. not sure if reducing it down would help. Any suggestions would be great

Chris, there is a guy in North East who is a bad *** welder named Dave Miller. He has a shop near Jackson marine. You could take them to him and see what he would charge. Those headers are pretty pimp though. the properly welded cast will likely last longer on the street though.
