Default Awesome way to clean off soot covered exhaust tips!

Well, my Corsa Premium Pro Series 3.5" exhaust tips have been caked with soot from the exhaust by products. I sat down for the laborious process of cleaning them with Mother's, etc and then I had a great idea... BRAKE CLEANER!

I had some non-cholrinated brake cleaner in the garage. I sprayed it on the rolled portion of the tips and it all came RIGHT OFF! I can't believe I hadn't thought of this sooner. Like dissolves like, so hydrocarbon solvents will dissolve hydrocarbon byproducts caked onto your exhaust tips!

It took 2 minutes to do all 4 of the rolled tips. I followed up with some wax to keep them protected, voila.

Give it a try on your exhaust tips

Mothers and Never Dull work great but if you want caked on massive amounts gone in 10 seconds the brake cleaner does the job. Then you can follow up with Mothers, Never Dull, etc
