Eastern Members - Detailing (2005 GMC 2500)

Thanks Mike for gifting us with this monstrosity (Atleast its got a LQ4) :)

2005 GMC Sierra dressed in Maroon... Well what can be said... It is big and not well looked after in the paint department :( ... Owner brought it to us to have the shine brought back to it, minimal correction beyond that, it is after all a farm truck.

Scott and I spent 14 man hours on this beast and we both have to say, this car is 75/80 out of 100 when it comes to the paint defects, but the reflection is 1000x better then it was with only a single pass. Truck looks wet with the LSP applied and a nice reflection in low light.

Remember, we are going for "good" not great on this one, and spent 7 hrs on this truck, with only a single corrective pass. Also, we nanoskinned the whole truck instead of clay, this time is worked out much better!

You will be happy to know Mike, I made Scott listen to country music for a couple hours while workiing on it, he loved it :nod:

Process

Exterior: CG Citrus Wash w/ Micro Fiber Mitt, dried, taped, nanoskinned, PO203 w/ Orange (single pass), IPA wipe down, Powerlock w/ Black (1hr set-up), Mequier's NXT by hand, Prima Slick during delivery


Wheels: Sonax Full Effect, Westly’s Bleach White, Wheel Brushes, dried, Prima Hydro, tires dressed with CG AG6 Tire Shine, Bare Bones for the wheel wells


Engine Compartment: Misc brushes, CG citrus wash by hand, rinse, dried.




Delivery, truck is beat!!!

Thanks, thats why we only did a single pass and didn't go too nuts chasing everything.

A truck in this condition to get it like 95% would have taken 2 days and 80%+ like this within a day. I'm not sure he ever waxed the truck before. He just wanted to give it a little love and clean it up is all. The paint was totally hazzed.

I know it will look like shit again by the end of the year, well maybe not as bad :)
