Street Racing & Kill Stories - 2007 SS Trailblazier kills 2009 Mustang GT Glasstop

I was coming home from the drag strip the other day with some guys and one had a 2009 Mustang GT glasstop with exhaust, tune, cold air and few other small things. I was in my stock 07 ss trailblazier and i pulled up behind him and we went from about a 15 roll and i was all but taking the paint off his rear bumper having to feather the throttle to keep from hitting him. We did another pull that way with the same outcome. The last pull we lined up side by side and went from a 5 mph roll. Its was close but every time he shifted i pulled away. We ran to about 90 before the next corner when we lifted and i was about 1 car lenght in front of him.

I didnt think the old ss would pull that mustang but after 3 runs i was very satisfied. The mustang guy was pissed but he was cool about it saying he was going to sell the POS slowstang and go GM.:cheers:

Thanks. No spray here. Matter of fact it was my moms trailblazer bc my trans am is in the Transmisson shop. There were two people in the trailblazer and four in the mustang. Maybe that's what it was

Its because occasionally... people post complete bullshit stories on here. Things that we know to either be complete bullshit or complete luck. Things like having a tuned L99 Camaro smoke a 500+rwhp Cobra... having Stock Mach 1s smoking anything in existence, etc.

Haha that is EXACLTY what he said. This guy isn't a "Ford" fan. He just drives a mustang bc he's only 20 and that's the newest/ fastest sports car he could afford. He said it all joking. It just made him want to go back home and start ordering more go fast parts. And that is what he did.

Maybe it was complete luck. But 3 times is a good number to me.

I find it to be likely that you did beat him. Especially if he had 4 people in the car. I've pulled stock Auto 5th Gen Camaros up until 130 or so when I had my TBSS. But then again my truck was full bolt-on.

Good kill. To me it's easily plausible. The extra weight hurts him alot more then your moms TBSS since you got more horsepower. I don't see a catback tune making much difference on a 4.6l GT.

Sounds right to me. Can you imagine how gut less a 3v glass top GT would feel with 4 people in it....omg That car would barely crack 13's empty.....if it even could

CAI/Tune only 3V cars have hit high 12s/bottom 13s.... the Trailblazer is slower than a stock 3v to begin with (TonyGXP is the only guy I know of that has any runs that come close). Maybe if the original post has said something about an extra 500lbs in the GT I wouldn't have raised the flag so quick but even then it's not like 3V is the underdog here.

FWIW the glass roof is only worth about 50lbs extra to the cars weight. (some people say its only 25lbs heavier than the normal roof)

Ive raced a few 05-10 mustang Gt's and they usually dyno about 260rwhp. Even though my full bolt on camaro had alot more some that were modded or had full bolt ons gave me a decent run. So if he only had a couple of mods and guessing he was about 270-275rwhp and your 2wd SS was probably around 330-340rwhp and him having 4 people in the car and you had 2 is probably believable. OP dont get mad, now a days were use to seeing vidz and in my case i dont bother sometimes to comment if i dont see a vid its not a big deal if you beat it and you know it thats all that counts in the end.

I can attest that this kill is most likely legit. I owned a 2006 TBSS AWD and even when it was stock (not for long haha) I beat my friend's 2007 mustang GT by 1 car. There's no difference between a 07 & 09 right? Both have the 300-310 hp 4.6? correct me if I'm wrong.

Even though the TBSS is considerably heavier it still has almost 100hp more. In my race we went from a dig, thats where the AWD was nasty, I could pull most street cars 0-30 haha. It was even better when I put in the circle D 3200 stall.

When I had my TBSS sometime it was worst than that and sometime closer. Matter fact I took out a 06 GT today in my Denali. The guy was cool about it. He said that the GT was exhaust only but that goes to show that anything can happen.

CAI/Tune only 3V cars have hit high 12s/bottom 13s.... the Trailblazer is slower than a stock 3v to begin with (TonyGXP is the only guy I know of that has any runs that come close). Now let's not go using "Fastest List" times when we all know the average CAI/tune GT won't run anywhere near 12's. Anything can happen on the street! Maybe its not suppose to happen but it happens. The 2wd TBSS isn't that far from a 05-09 GT stock for stock. Plus the OP said the GT was riding 4 deep. His car could run like shit, tune could be skewed, who knows..plenty variables.

It's not common, just "potential". A TBSS running 13 anything isn't common either in stock form, there is a gap between a 3v and an SS stock vs stock. Add mods to the 3v and the gap widens. As I said this was the info as presented, OP didn't mention the 3v had a car load until after I responded.

Unrealistic becuase this was a street race not track. I ran a 8.3 in the 1/8th with efans and a tune with a 2.1 60'. Not sure what most 3v run, all I know is iv ran a few and beat all.

No sorry no 1/4 closest track is about a hour, 1/8 is about 20 mins from me. My 1/8th mph was 79. I plan on getting 1/4 times on the new set up. New set up times is 8.1 at 90mph lol (on street tires and burnt up Trans on the rev going over the line)

Little over a 1/4 tank of gas and spare tire and jack out, on stock 20"s with toyos with a 2.2 60'. I'm hoping to get atleast a 7.8 inthe 1/8 with slicks and a built Trans. I'm heads, cam, 3400 stall.

Maybe so lol I have a set of Saab 18's all the way around with 305s of back. But can't get a good run becuase my Trans won't hit 3rd at WOT and need it for the last 100ft or so with the 18's the 20s take me maybe 20 ft before the end till I need 3rd.
