Street Racing & Kill Stories - Cam/175 shot camaro vs two Alpha 6 GT-Rs and me.

The Camaro in the video is a 2001 SS with a built LS1, cam and 175 shot. He called all of the GT-R's out on my local forum and wanted to run so we all obliged. The two first GT-Rs that ran him both have AMS alpha 6 kits. I have the mods in my sig. Below are the videos:

Nice kill!! Your gtr rolls out. So how is the ls1 built? If it's built what rotating assembly? Is it can only or heads to?

Nope. He had a full bottle when he raced me, he made sure of that. My GT-R is a lot faster than the other ones. I have full bolt ons and E85. The other GT-R's have downpipes, midpipes and air filters on 93 octane. I probably have an additional 75whp on those guys.

Also Ohioborn, I'm about 2.5 hours northwest of benning. None of those runs happened in GA. I'm on leave and they happened in Mexico. ;)

Thats actually my car its a 99 model with ls1 intake ls1 853 untouched heads tsp228 cam t56 level II ls7 clutch moser 12 bolt with 3.73's and a 175 shot.

on a dyno dynamics dyno, car made 331 n/a and 482 n20.. cars been a best of 7.04 @ 99mph

car has more in it and that was a 40 hit from 2nd, im sure it would have been diff if i was able to start in 1st gear, but thats what i get for rolling on street tires LOL

Turns out the bottle wasnt as full as i was told it was but thats no ones fault, shit happens. No excuses he won fair and square. and his car is exceptionally faster than the other two as he said.

I spun a rod bearing in my old motor and found a forged shortblock for 1600 bucks with about 3k miles on it so i jumped on it when i had the chance so heads intake money was spent on forged motor lol, and the two alpha 6 gtr's i had et streets for and tryed a 30 roll and the car hits so hard it just blew the tires off so i went up to 40 in 2nd : ( and everyone who knows fbodys and the t56 knows i gave up a couple cars by doing so lol
however the car will be on some hoosiers soon : )

Dayum...lol. Both toys are back from builder now... I will be down in GA for the Znationals in Carrollton, GA the first weekend of October. You should roll thru... Few cars from Doug and crew at Top Speed always show up. Road course on friday, show and shine/bbq/ dyno comp on saturday, and drag strip on sunday... (que the strobe lights and strippers!!)

I can confirm this!! Dyno dynamics are heart breaker dynos. My car only put down 420 on one but went 11.6@118mph @ 4400lbs.

good runs for the SS. as stated, you have a lot left on the table with your setup, which is a good place to be!

My old Z06 made 675whp on that same dyno with an LS2 402 and supercharger.


I also have a higher boost map on the GT-R that I only use on occasion. I might try it out in the future. :)

Those Alpha 6 GT-Rs are gonna be putting race gas in their cars so it should be interesting. AMSZilla will also be doing a built motor Alpha 9 over the winter.

I am really debating selling a bunch of my cars and getting a GTR. They are insanely fast from a dig or a roll with stupid little mods. I just don't like the looks....

Which is a HUGE concern. That's why I would never buy one, they look atrocious but are fast for sure.

I'm not really a fan of the GTR but i love my Skylines... R33 & R34... but then again i had an issue when Nissan got rid of the 300ZX twin turbo for the fugly 350Z...lol. If wifey wasn't pregnant and i had some extra change i would try one out! Chevy has that program running where you buy a car and your not happy you can return it if its under 4000 miles... Punish a ZR1 for two or three weeks...lol

This is the stock(JDM) front fascia in Japan... back then... the good old days of turbo cars...lol. Played with on of the Sonata turbos the other day on the freeway... nice but its a fwd...smh.

No room for nothing...lol!! We have three monster swaps at Z1 down in GA... One has the V8 motor from the Q45 twin turbo'd, and another has an almighty LS1 swap, and the usual JDM swap... a HUGE single turbo 2JZ... my ONLY issue with my Z was no matter how much power she made i still ran out of gear... tried the 6 speed swap from a 350Z and time and money ran fast and short with all the fabbing that had to be done...

Only flaw with those cars despite no room in engine bay was the brakes. For a while you couldn't get a injector bigger than 550CC. Now you can. Nice car to upgrade if you don't mind the hassle of working on it. Bottom end was pretty strong too.

I miss my Z some days... I remember those Nismo 550cc's!! Never had issue with brakes. They where the same as the R32. All the 240SX & Maxima guys upgraded to stock Z32 brakes.
