Street Racing & Kill Stories - Ported Pulleyed Cobra Vs 01 SS A4 *VIDS*

Cobra is an 03 with a 2.75 pulley, ported blower, tune, exhaust, and a few cooling mods, Ported TB, etc, etc. Was having a tune issue and leveling off at 5500 RPM, not dropping off, just wasn't building anymore power. Dyno sheet proves this that was done the day before.
01 SS is mine, (need to update my sig) with 3.73s, milled 243 heads, Lingenfelter GT11 Cam, Full exhaust, LID, FRA, ported TB, tuned, LCAs, and still on the stock stall.
Both cars on on street tires and shut down at 130 mph. Traction was bad for me in the SS, but once I hooked, well...watch and see.

What was that loud pop I heard in the last video? Nice runs!

I guess that shows what a difference 165lbs can make. Nice runs.

That dig run was sick how you reeled him back in. What's the deal with the nitrous bottle being buckled in the Cobra?

That Eaton was probably hotter than hell by the third run.

The loud pop was his WOT box according to him. Backfires sometimes..scared the shit out of me both times, lol.
He figured out his tune issue and is getting it revised. He was maxing out around 430 RWHP and 4 something RWTQ. Should be able to edge me out or at least stay even now.
My 3rd pulled harder than him, but it looks like the ground gained by me was done mainly between his shifts...the bottle was just an old bottle he was trying to sale at mustang week.
Appreciate the comments guys!

Kinda but not really. You can't really make one car 165lb lighter and the other 165lb heavier to see what 165lb does. That actually nets 330lb.

Put a converter in your car and that will handle his retune

how do you figure? That has to be the slowest ported car ever. It should be making around 500 wheel all day long.

430 at 5500 rpms. Could make 500, tought to know until the tune is on point for another 1000 rpms. Camaro def won because of the loss of rpms.

He got the tune fixed. It was only making 430 RWHP at 5500 RPM and leveling off from there up. A ton more TQ than me as well, but anyway he said it's running much better now. I'm sitting right at 400 RWHP in 100 degree heat, he said he should be at 475 since its making power all the way to 6500 now...but he does have a good 300lbs on me and is a manual as well, so I don't see him putting 2 cars on me or anything, but should definitely creep away from me. My car gains a lot of ground back every time he shifts and my 3rd gear was actually pulling him pretty good during the runs I posted....so idk, just wish he wasn't back in Michigan (14 hours away) so we could run again and see what that Cobra can do with the retune. I'm going to hit the track as soon as the weather breaks, as is he, so at least we can compare traps to see who might do what if we ever got the chance to line up again.
Here is his dyno from this weekend..scroll about half way down the thread page, can't miss it.. http://mustangforums.com/forum/the-racers-bench/676852-me-vs-stone-finally-gonna-happen-10.html

Not as bad as you would think. The ice was melted in his reservoir, but it was still only about room temp after all 4 runs, and the blower was ok to lay your hand on without being uncomfortable (not that means anything regarding the IATs). He had everything iced down for a good 45 minutes before I got there.

not sure how i stumbled upon this, but i must say i'm surprised to see there wasn't too much bashing on my car in here lol, after taking the L i figured everyone would pounce hah.
anyways my tune got taken care of, still on a mail order and stock lower pulley tho, so should be around the 475 area like trey said. since then both me and the op have made it to the track, he used to trap 118~ with his own tuning issue and 3.73's, now with stock gears again and the tune redone i believe his best was 116, still a lot left in the car tho, seemed to deff run better than a 116 car when we raced lol. My car at the last time out averaged around 121, best mph being 123, only changes since that run day were taking all the luggage out of the car, swapping to a sra and fixing the tune(mail order). Now if only I could talk trey into coming up to michigan for a few runs so we could get some new vids!

This guy has the most terrible racing posture ever. One hand loosely on the bottom of the steering wheel and his hand on the shifter the whole time at high speeds. I am sad now
