Well the crappy thing about living in Reno is that the elevation is roughly 5000ft above sea level. I have a heads/cam/nitrous kit waiting in my garage to be installed but I wanted a baseline run. I also have a fabbed 8.8 ready to be dropped in. Anyways, the DA at the track was 6800 ft :0 so i wasn't expecting to run anything special lol My car is an 02 Z28 M6 with Lid, KN filter, LT headers, ORY and STOCK Tune. I have 315/35 nittos on the rear so I was very conscious about launching the car since this is my DD until i get a beater in 2 weeks. With my crappy launches I could best muster a 2.2 60' and trapped 13.8 at 104mph. I did 4 runs with 3 of them going into 4th gear. I'm still with 3.42 gears so I could manage to stay in 3rd and I trapped 104 dam near 105. I dont know how well this is considering the DA was 6800ft. I figured it would be a good baseline before i do the HC and rear swap. Let me know you think.

looks pretty good. would probably run mid 12's at 112 or more at near sea level

That is about what I figured it would run down around sea level. Sacramento is about 100 miles away and the elevation there is about 80ft above sea level. Its a little dissappointing racing up here in Reno when the altitude is so high.

Get some tires, wait for the cool fall air, and make the drive... And your car will run like a motherfucker!

Where I race (Bristol,TN) the best I've seen the da is 4000. And my headers, ory, lid, 410 car only managed 106. I added a LS6 intake and a dumped bullet and starting trapping upper 108. After a cam I went to 112-113. The DA is killing you.

You'll drop .4~.8 going to Sac. You'll pick up a few MPH as well. The track works a lot better too. I'm assuming you were at a $5 friday trying to race after 100 front drive cars tracked water down a virtually unprepped track. 6800 is about as good as it gets for Fallon though.

Times sound good for the conditions/mods.

Picnic George: Yeah I was at $5 Friday and Fallon is a pretty crappy track from what I can tell the 3-4 times Ive raced there. I lived in NYC for 1 year and I raced at Englishtown, NJ quite a bit. Night/Day comparison between Fallon and Englishtown lol The FWD cars are a little rediculous when it comes to tracking water down the track. I really need to get that 60' time down and my time should improve considerably. My custom 8.8 is completely done I'm just fabricating a torque arm mount for it now (I have a thread in Gears/Axles with pics of that btw). When that goes in I can launch without worrying about my rear exploding. I'm looking for some more LS or car buddies in Reno so send me a PM sometime.

There is prep there(albeit not the best) and there generally isn't a bunch of radial tire civics and neons driving through the water box like tards. I have seen as much .3 60ft difference but my car is also a 6 speed on a radial tire so I need all the help I can get. Next time I race a $5 friday I think I'm throwing my slicks on, cuz last time I was thoroughly not impressed lol

How often do they do the TNT races at Fallon? I just moved back to Reno 1.5 years ago so I'm still a little new. Are you running slicks on a 10 bolt? What gears?

I'll have my 8.8 installed in about like 2 weeks. I have 4.10 gears in it. Should be a big step up from the 3.42.

Put some slicks on it and flog the piss out of it. I'm stubborn that's why I run radials lol

bwolf I hate the Fallon drag strip. The prep there is pretty much non existant and like George said, all the stupid Honda's drive through the water box and track water up the track and the officials don't tell them anything, ugh.

I'm the same as you mods wise...

2000 WS6 M6 with lid/TB/LS6 Intake/Headers/Catback/Tune. 340rwhp/350lb/ft at Street to Sand Performance.

I can never get a good 60ft there, I always end up running 2.2's or 2.3's on stock tires. In Sacramento at least you can pull 2.0-2.1's with stock tires. In Fallon I ran a best of 13.7 @ 107mph with a 2.3 60ft with my passenger seat, back seat, and jack and spare tire pulled out at about 6800ft DA.

In Sacramento the DA was about 800ft and I was trapping 112-113mph and have squeaked out a 114mph in negative DA. 13.2 @ 113mph with a 2.1 60ft were my last runs there. I just hate driving to Sac because it's like 2 and a half hours to the track.

thats why I dont bother going on a friday night ussally I used too run a 305/45/18 29.5'' drag radial lol with a full suspenion and a bolt on car you bog out off the hole unless you leave at 3500-4500 my m6 car ran 12.50s on test and tune friday nights but I also have a perfect tune on it as well since I tune it myself..best time on a sunday was a 12.39 but eploded my 10 bolt multiple times though lol 4:10's worked best for my car that and 3:73s with nitrous

Just don't go on $5 friday. I honestly don't care, my car can pull the wheels at TNT and I can barely get it moving on a $5 friday. But it's cheap and it's a fun way to spend a friday evening. That's why I'm putting my slicks on next time I race a $5 friday. I'm sure I can make my car work on that track just need some time :)

But no matter what, Sac works better.
