Have a 02 camaro with ls1 im having engine cooling promlems that's driving me crazy. I drove 25 miles on the highway in 100degree temps and guage shows 210 the whole time I pull threw a fast food joint and idle my temps start to climb some times to almost the red zone. It takes about 3 min to do this. Some times I can kill the car wait a min or so fire it back up temps will be almost in the red then suddenly start to drop back to 210 get back on the highway and alls good 210 back the 25 miles. Know both fans are running at idle when first crank up, radiator is full. Where do I start. Will a fan motor go bad for example run on its low side but not on its high side.

You could certainly have a fan issue, as they are what keeps you cool in the city and stop and go traffic.

But you might have a sticking t-stat. When they start to stick closed or partially open, thats what will cause a fast increase in temps.

But make sure the fans are coming "on" together ALWAYS. And they should go into LOW and HIGH together.

Should I hear both fans come on high while in the car I know I hear one. I let it idle for a while both fans run when start the car passenger side will go to high but drivers dosent at the same time. How hard is it to change a fan motor.
