Default Trunk Lock

Has anyone tried putting an Electric 3rd Gen trunk lock into a 4th Gen Camaro? I'm tired of slamming the trunk shut on my 98 Z28.

Yes I did but the 98 cars have no spring on the latch. I am wondering if anyone has put a motorized unit from a 3rd gen on their car.
