He tuned my car back when it was full bolt-ons. Seemed to be a decent tune, kinda dropped the ball a little when it came to the trans/converter drivability. Price seemed reasonable at the time. That was about 4-5 yrs ago.

^Nice SIG!!!
Maybe he needs help with those new numbers?!?
You guys should hook it up in Imperial.
when it came to the trans/converter drivability.
I have a similar issue with lock-up.
LJ, can you guys fix that?!?

Ive already helped him with that area MONTHS AGO!!! Ive got a feeling he's trying to play the shady side from few moles!!

Change the misfire tables to "32767" to fix converter lock issues. What converter you end up with?

It's just a single disc TCI unit. Works well for a simple driver.
I'm not that hard on it, so I don't necessarily need a triple disc or any hi-dollar unit even tho I'd like to have a nice Circle-D or Yank.
But the lock-up is an issue with throttle position.
In & out of lock-up. It was in the 30-40mph range, so he made some changes & now it's in the 45-60 range.
It's hard on the drive-line goin' in & out so hard.
Of course if ya touch the brake it automatically comes out of lock-up.
But there's also a lock-up issue with WOT between 1st & 2nd. Sometimes it goes into lock-up, sometimes it doesn't. If I remember right, I think it may be with WOT only. If you are just back off WOT it may work fine. I'll have to go test it again to make sure.
If it does go into lock-up, you know it right away & get out of it.
I know that'll tear shet up, ...

He told me it was just my "converter" i guess i dumped 850 on a lockup converter that dosnt stay locked. Change the low-mid misfire tables to the value i posted above. Its worth a shot. Basically from what i understand the smaller diameter of the converter is causing the pcm to see false knock, which will in return cause the converter to lock and unlock randomly. I never had a misfire code or anything just poor drivability, but thats what fixed mine.

He told me the same thing, that I should upgrade to a triple-disc Circle-D, Yanks, or some other brand. I can understand the need for a reputable converter when you're on it hard all the time, racing or whatever. But I rarely am.
He also said it cold be vacuum issues with the cam not creating enough vacuum.
It's not random, it's all with throttle position & some pre-set speed range.
Cruisin' at 45mph with throttle necessary because of load, it'll stay in lock-up. When you back off the throttle ever so lightly, which obvioulsy lessens the load, it comes out, & then back on when you slightly apply more throttle to continue, ..., thunk & it's back in lock-up.
I've check the driveshaft u-joints & they are tight.
I might replace them even tho I can't find a problem with them.
The other is during take-off from a stop. It's one or the other of these & I need to go test it to confirm, ...
WOT & from 1st-2nd it goes into lock-up, release throttle position slightly & it'll release & you can then again rev/run high rpm to the next shift point.
Or slightly off WOT, & it does it.
I have no way to change the tables myself.
Maybe LJ can help with that, ..., or I'll have to take it back to Lincoln for Dan to try something & play with it some more.
Now, I can understand lock-up should maybe go in/out with throttle & load. But it is so harsh, it thumps/thunks every time & is hard on the driveline.
And yea, the more I think about it, there is that moment when criusin' around 45-50 that it can't make up it's mind if it wants to stay in or out of lock-up.
32767.

Yes, Dan is/was an LTx owner with an Impala SS for many years.
There are always LTx/LSx, & other vehicles in there.
So Yes, ..., Go visit him.
He's a pretty mellow, easy person to work with.

I'm going to try and get my car in and tuned in the next few weeks. Get it ready for the Omaha ice cream cruise.

My issues were no where near as severe as yours, mine would just constantly lock and unlock at hiway speeds just cruising in 4th. We played with the misfire tables then adjusted the shift speeds. It drives as close to stock as a built auto stalled car can now. Mines a Vig converter, single disk. Your hawks cam only right? He's high if he thinks you need a triple disk. Just throw a bunch of money at it, that'll fix it i guess...?

Well your avatar says you are from KC. Do you live around Lincoln now or just don't want to go to any tuners around KC!?

Your hawks cam only right?
Yes, & of course with the supporting mod's, but No head/intake changes.
Some day, when I've got a shetload of money burnin' a hole in my pocket, maybe I'd look at a bigger better converter.

All you hear is horror stories from guys getting ltx's tuned in kc. My ls1 was tuned at mc racing and was fine. Have not heard of anyone around kc that has had any luck tuning the lt1s

Probly need to tweak the shift points alittle and adjust the TCC duty cycle to around 97 or 98 for the whole table.
Hard saying without knowing what the tune looks like now.
