Stereo & Electronics - Monsoon to aftermarket head unit help!!!

hey everyone I have a 02 ws6 and am trying to put a aftermarket head unit in where the monsson was. I had a buddy of mine clip the harness to slice all the aftermarket head unit wires together( i know bad idea) but Im trying to fix it and when I hook the aftermarket one up It turns on like it should and does everything but there is no sound out of any speakers. Why would that be?

I heard if ur putting in a aftermarket HU that you have to bypass the stock amp and run the wires to the HU instead of the amp is that why t isnt working? please let me know of any help thanks

you cut the stock wires instead of using a 20$ adapter harness?

The first thing you need to do is splice the wires back together color by color and then buy the appropriate harness to connect to whatever brand radio you bought. Tell your buddy ya can't fix stupid! A harness can be had for as little as $5 on ebay depending what type of HU you bought.

And no, you don't have to bypass the Monsoon amp. Replacing a head unit in a Monsoon system is as simple as attaching the adapter harness to the new head unit and plugging it in to the factory wiring.

Let me guess...your friend that cut your factory harness own a mustang huh? He has to bc only a dumb ass would go Ford and would be stupid enough to cut wires...

It's a buddy of ours I was hoping my firend actually saw my post haha. I don't hate fords lmao chill it's cool. Just like messin around bout our friend that (attempted but failed)installed it. I ended up having to be the one to fix it. Everything works tho so we're all good now. Want trying to offend any ford or mustang owners lol
