View Full Version : I'm looking to trade a C for a V
07-26-2012, 10:52 PM
Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, I've had an 05 Corvette Coupe for almost 3 years and I'm ready to try something else. If any of you may be looking to try a Corvette and would like to make some sort of swap, let me know. I'm in Michigan but I have no problem with taking a ride. If anyone has any interest I can email pics. I love the look of all your cars on this site. The vette has been fun but I'd like something a little more practical....and the vette scares the hell out of my wife. She says it's too small and thinks she gonna die every time she's in it.

Pics and info on the car?
07-26-2012, 11:16 PM
Yeah, definitely more info on the car. Pictures, mileage, etc...

Ok, I'll try to figure out how to load pics. It's a precision Red Coupe. 74,500 miles, HUD, NAV, ebony int, I did add OBX stainless steel long tube headers, a vararam cai and had it custom tuned afterwards.

Sounds like fun... I am home in Detroit twice a month. What part of MI are you in?

Auto or 6 speed??

I'm in Macomb county...
it's an automatic...
I'm trying to attach a pic...

one more try...
Each time I try to load a pic it tells me that the upload failed.
Do I need an upgraded subscription to load pictures?
07-27-2012, 10:51 AM
No - but there is a max size listed on the upload page. That gets a lot of people.
07-27-2012, 11:34 AM
Yeah, I think that's the problem.
07-27-2012, 11:38 AM
That's the only pic that will load so far and it's an older one.
It has polished aluminum wheels now and painted yellow break calipers.
I also recently started using all the Zaino paint products on it so the paint looks really good now. I don't know if you guys use that stuff but it really good. All the vette guys seem to swear by it.

I would consider a swap.... but I don't know if mine would be wife approved either. Kind of noisy.

It's actually way too quiet for me. It only opens up (noise wise) when you accelerate hard. I have headers but the mufflers are stock so the header noise increase is minimal. That was going to be my next upgrade though. I want more of throaty tone.
I don't get why all you guys can load all these big beautiful pics and all mine are too large. the photos are from my cell phone for gods sake. I would figure it would be a no brainer. Although my phone take great pictures I'm sure everyone else loads pics from their phones.
my email is: email@example.com if anyone wants me to email pics. I wounder if I can go into photoshop and reduce the size of a pic so it will fit in here.

Oh sorry Gab....I thought you were implying that your wife might think the vette was too loud. I re-read what you had written.
Yeah, your V seems like it may be much louder than what I have now.
I won't let her control things like that about my car, but I don't like the fact that she worries about dying when she's in the vette.
The car is sooo fast and you sit pretty low to the ground so I think she feels too enclosed.

I may be interested...

The key to big pics is to store them on a photo site like photobucket or something. Then you go to the full size pic, right click and select copy url. Then in your post, click on the yellow icon that looks like a mountain and a sun - paste that link in there. Big high res pics.
Nice car by the way

Never satisfied....your car sounds like a beast! I'm sure it's beautiful but maybe too much for an old man like me....but I'll look at it. firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks Bacon....I'll give that a try.
Nice car NoLag! Where in Michigan do you visit?
07-27-2012, 02:27 PM
Well Bacon, when I right click on the pic, "copy URL" is not one of my options. I have the pictures saved on my desktop as jpeg's if that helps you at all. It offers tons of stuff for me to do but copy url (of course) isn't one of them.

You have to have pictures hosted on a site online to be able to paste the URL address. A photobucket, flickr, imageshack, shutterfly, facebook(bleh) etc. account will let you upload photos from your desktop. From there you can right click and copy the URL (hosted location) and show pictures anywhere on the webs.

Ok, thanks Bud....I guess that'll be the next thing I try.
