Default How many people have run 5.99 or lower with a 4L60E???

Besides the Linginfelter vet. I was wondering about a true F-body A4 here. Just wondering if anyone has run this fast with a shitty 4L60E????

I have a buddy that is running 6.2s and is shooting for 5.99 the next time out. He has a built 4L60E and it has been in the car for over a year. He has a 408 with 150 worth of bottle to run 6.2's. He is now going to add another 150 worth of bottle on top of the original 150 to go 300 worth out of the hole. He thinks that it will hold with no problem. Who on here thinks it will hold or is there anyone that has already made a 4L60E hold.

He didn't just run one 6.2 either. He has probably over 100 6 second passes on this tranny and it is a daily driver for him. He was stuck in the 6.4 range with a 346ci motor and some bottle for a long time. Does anyone have any info on this??????

Not a lot ppl post up their 8th times, but figure the qtr et range then look up in the timeslips and fastest.... lists. Looks like about 9.30 for a quarter mile pass all things being equal. So, lets go look at the lists!

Looks like Major Spray, Stealth 415 C5, and maybe a couple others could run those numbers with the 4L60E, they may be using a 700R4 or 200R4, the list just says A4. So, it am sure it can be done with a built trans.

If I was running that type of setup.. I'd go to a TH-350/400 (transbrake) and call it a day. Any 4L60E will be living on borrowed time with that kind of abuse.

He said besides the linginfelter vet. Does Rossler have a 4L60E in a F-body doing those times. There is a difference in a F-body and a vet 4L60E.
