The rulebooks for the WCF heads-up classes take an incredible amount of time and research each year to maintain parity among hundreds of different combinations.
Some of the combinations in each class remain the same each year with little or no changes to the rulebook, but some of the combinations in each class are still making performance leaps throughout the year and are being monitored if any tweaks or changes need to be made.
The WCF Import heads-up classes follow the IREV Series (www.irevracing.com) rulebook each year unless their is a revision that needs to be made when the WCF rulebook is posted.
The rulebook for the WCF Domestic heads-up classes is always an evolution of the previous year's WCF rulebook to maintain parity.
To view the 2011 Rulebook for the heads-up classes go to: http://www.importvsdomestic.com/rulebook/index.htm
If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments on the rulebook please email the particulars on your combination to jmiller@mirdrag.com so we can review them with our WCF Rules Committee during the month of August.
The 2012 Rulebook for the 10.00 Index, 10.50 Index, 11.50 Index, and 12.50 Index is already posted at:
http://www.importvsdomestic.com/rulebook/index.htm
So, in an effort to have the best rulebook possible, the 2012 Import and Domestic WCF rulebooks will now be posted by September 1, 2012.

it would be a smellly weekend if i did that! If we were to stay at an area hotel could we tow to and from the track each day? Most racers just leave their cars/trailers right at the track (you'll generally get set up in the pits when you first get there and that's your spot for the whole weekend) and just drive their tow vehicles to/from the hotel each day.

I actually left my trailer and tow vehicle in the pits and drove my car to and from the track. But, I'm weird.

To be honest I dont think an LT1 has ever shown up or even asked to written into the rules.
Anything goes is alittle crazy.
Didnt Joe O. have an 8second all motor one like 5-6 years ago ?

Rumor has it he went 9.3x all motor. well obvi there would be a weight min etc etc. but limiting an all motor class to cam only for an LT1 especially would be rediculous.

you could run index
Ya index racing is pretty boring to me, and with the amount of cars and waiting, not worth it for 3 runs.

The World Cup Finals event has grown every year since its inception 17 years ago, and car counts range from 600-700 racers every year. In an effort to be able to finish the event in a reasonable time frame for our heads-up racers, index racers, and fans; the World Cup Finals will no longer hold an E.T. Bracket class for racers to show up and enter. The World Cup Finals event will only feature Heads-Up and Index classes. This change will free up more pit space and not have the event run so late each day.
Now with the 3-Day event schedule, there will be two qualifying sessions on Friday, and two more qualifying sessions on Saturday. Eliminations will start first thing on Sunday morning for all classes, and there will be no tech inspection or qualifying on Sunday. This schedule change will give traveling racers more track time with twice as many qualifiers as they have ever gotten at WCF, and get the event completed each day much earlier than the past. It will also allow the 20,000 WCF fans to see the heads-up and index finals.
All heads-up classes will be placed on a 32-car ladder at WCF, if 32 or more cars qualify in a class. If 31 or less cars qualify in a heads-up class then the field will be placed on a 16-car ladder. All Index classes are "All Run" fields, meaning that everyone that makes a qualifying run is automatically in the race.
In an effort to give the non-qualifiers in the heads-up classes a place to race in at the World Cup Finals, MIR will now be holding a "Second Chance Race" on Sunday. The "Second Chance Race" will be run under an E.T. Bracket racing format for 12.99 and quicker cars only (12.99 will be the slowest dial-in permitted). There will be no time runs for the "Second Chance Race" since everyone will have made their qualifying runs on Friday and Saturday and can use those qualifying runs to set their dial-in on Sunday. The "Second Chance Race" will start after 2nd round of the Index and Heads-up eliminations on Sunday. All non-qualifiers of the heads-up classes will be allowed to run the "Second Chance Race" free of charge. Since we are starting the "Second Chance Race" after 2nd round of Index and Heads-up classes, we will also be allowing 1st and 2nd round losers of the Index and Heads-up classes to buy into the "Second Chance Race" for a $40 entry fee. If you won 2nd round of an index class or heads-up class you will not be allowed to buy into the "Second Chance Race". Also, MIR will not be allowing new racers to show up Sunday to enter the "Second Chance Race". This race is only for Index and Heads-up racers. The "Second Chance Race" will pay $1,000 to winner, $250 Runner-Up, $75 Semis, and $50 to Quarters.
The "Second Chance Race" will benefit the event, racers, and fans in a few ways. It will keep the racing surface warm and entertain the 20,000 fans while we give cool down time for heads-up and index racers in the last few rounds of competition all the way up the finals. It will also give racers that "Second Chance" at a big event to take home a cash purse and a coveted WCF Silver Cup Trophy. Good luck to all WCF racers!

is there any chance ls1tech members can get a discount on tickets?Nah nothing like that is set up at all but as mentioned above, MIR is somewhat reasonable with their entry fees (for both racing and spectating).

Great news from MIR! The storm has passed by us here at the track. Our power is on and businesses in the area including hotels all have power as well. Also all bridges and roads to the track are open.
We have minor clean-up to do at MIR with moving blown over trash barrels back into place, blowing off leaves, and a couple sponsor signs to put back up. We are very fortunate that the facility did not sustain any substantial damage.
We have our staff now working to prepare the track for this weekend's 17th annual World Cup Finals, and we have a great weather forecast for the event with sunny skies and temperatures near 60 degrees.
So plan now to attend, and we look forward to seeing everyone this weekend at the World Cup Finals for the biggest event of the season!
