ok so I got my M/T ET streets and front runners mounted and have been driving them around town, I am actually very impressed with the drivability of these things I would keep them on if it wouldnt wear them out fast.

I am starting wtih 25psi in the back keeping 35 in the front may move to 40. My car is very capable of a 11.1 11.2 pass I plan to take it easy on the launching the first couple times to see how the car reacts. I run a long torque arm and a lighter than stock flywheel so lifting the car off the ground is not a huge concern I doubt that will happen.

The tires seem to want to push the car strait I have let go of the steering wheel and I can feel that the back tires drive the car and keep it perfectly strait so I know the rears are good and matched.

I was thinking of a 3k to 4k launch which is getting close to my max torque band and I am shifting at 6600 rpms 200rpm past my max hp.

What I am needing advice on is burnout procedure, wet them or no?

also would love some advice from someone runnign the same tires with close to the same HP.

i am a full weight car also.

Dry burnouts are really hard on the tire and kills them quicker....

When the tire is wet it allows heat to get into the tire without excessive wear on the tire.

My preference is to air up my front tires to 50 at times 60 psi(way less rolling resistance) then air them back down to normal pressure after the day/night is done. The rear well all cars are different but i set my rear pressure to 18-21 on ET streets I HATE rolling through the water-box so i do my best to go around the water then back the rears into the box enough to get the tires wet, rotate the tires to ensure they are wet pull foward about a foot then do my short burn-out or enough to get white smoke then roll up to the line and pre-stage.......Not everyone uses the same technique however this one works for me.:drive:

Definitely wet the tires, a dry burnout puts unneeded stress on the entire drivetrain. Roll through the water, set the line lock, put it in 2nd gear and let her rip. Once you get a little smoke, cut the line lock off and stay in the throttle nice and even until the tires bite.
You may need more launch rpm, the lightweight flywheel has a tendency to let the motor bog.

thanks for the advice, It was definetly a learning experience I started with 25psi, from what I read on here alot of guys were having luck at high psi but I think they were stock hp or not at my power lvl I all but blew threw them with anything over 3k launches, I finally got it figured out at the end of the night and dropped the air down to 16psi and lanched at 5500 fairly good with hardly any spin or bigging. the sixty was only a 1.8 but my car was not designed for the best sixtys (18lb flywheel, koni shocks, no drag bar, full weight) but i still got room to grow, I ran a 11.7 at 120 not bad but i belive its got more in it at that trap speed id like to see a 1.5 sixty but i dont see that happenign with my setup
